  1. Urias and Hiura, two others that provided depth, also out. Crazy that we are in first, especially if you simply look at all the unknown names across our roster, bullpen especially. And Owen Miller is our bright spot!
  2. I do not take Pittsburgh seriously and will hope they beat Cubs/Cards well into September.
  3. Sveum, I think this is very perceptive and so under radar. Our defense is essentially keeping us in 1st place. It also should be incredibly encouraging that we can be even better with IL guys coming back, defense being more consistent than pitching/hitting, and doing this with our best starting pitchers (Burnes/Peralta) struggling.
  4. Still lots of negativity with the Brewers… Unthinkably, DS basically says no mas to 2023 and seemingly sits in a back room of AmFam. CC does not seemingly want to sign an extension. Attanasio not wanting to pony up $ to get offense the last July or this offseason. The whole ballpark fiasco and who splits the bill with owner being silent. No extension talks for any of the stars. Meh attendance. Now the trade articles with team in first. It’s a much different feel in Milwaukee than especially 2007/2008; or even 2011, 2018, or 2021. Burnes being unhappy with his millions this year and then pitching like Soup in a half dozen games fits the theme. Getting dealt while team is in first would, as well.
  5. Endless injuries. Are we winning the most guys on injury list this year? Anywhere t look for this?
  6. If we are talking 20 years, sure, all the above and more need to be upgraded or replaced. No shocker. Putting 20 million into the ballpark upgrades per year for 20 years seem much more right than 400 million seemingly more up front in the next 7. Maybe I am misreading this, but when the urgent matter is doubling the size of the video board, I can’t believe the roof and infrastructure are in dire need of major work.
  7. Using WAR, sure, he looks bad. Yet his OPS was better than Adames, our maybe best hitter in 2022? Let’s not drag his name through the mud when that is true. Sign me up for Hiura in the 8th spot striking out 50% of the time if he can hit 30 HRs and be even a .750 OPS guy. Let’s just look at the bat and commit to him lower in the order. Our weakness at the MLB level is scoring runs. How about if we acknowledge that the NL has a DH and we actually consider Hiura for that position, especially if our current DH options are playing themselves out of playing time, and we really do not have other great options.
  8. In the lineup, in the field, on the road between AAA and Milwaukee, at end of games…. Jerked around. Yet, he hit .866 OPS against righties with an inconsistent 157 plate appearances
  9. Better to just say he has K issues and defensive issues. Hi bat looks way better, even his avg MLB self, than half of the guys on this team.
  10. He has been jerked around so much by the Brewers I feel sorry for him.
  11. So twisted… making Hiura out to be this awful MLB hitter (can we trust him?) is just nuts, especially when his OPS was better than Adames, our #2 hitter in 2022. Bring him up, have him hit 8th at DH. Instant upgrade to the lineup.
  12. I check on Biloxi almost daily to check on Chourio and Black. I’m so encouraged with Black’s numbers and really surprised to see him at 3B. Does anyone know anything about the Brewers intentions with him? Is he trying out 3B or did 2B not work for some reason?
  13. And Gene Match’s entire conversation… every word. Said Vuch had nothing and knew he had nothing…and still did well.
  14. a few things… Don Sutton’s interview and gratitude…wow. Charlie Moore thanking Harry Dalton for being hardheaded and not listening to his demand for a trade. Yount and Molitor interviewed by Uecker… Ladd’s awe of the moment. never seen this postgame footage before!!! So great!
  15. Never saw this post game coverage! So good… the last half hour of this is must see if you grew up with this team.
  16. Even better here… https://deadline.com/2023/04/1982-milwaukee-brewers-docuseries-produced-former-cbs-president-kelly-kahl-cannonball-prods-1235321841/
  17. I saw this was in the works….just a great sports story. https://www.yahoo.com/news/documentary-series-1982-milwaukee-brewers-171616112.html
  18. Low attendance is going to be a pattern, no doubt, everywhere. Opening Day at AmFam has never seen so many empties, Terrace level, especially.
  19. When seats were one steady price, opening day was sought after. It was a big game and the price was right. Now! Not so much. Crazy prices has hurt the tradition. They don’t care, though. Well, they care because it is money to them,
  20. Ironically, we would trade Yelich and his contract back for all those same washed up prospects now.
  21. Favre could have run for governor and won had he simply kept retired. He was that loved by the state of Wisconsin at that moment. Not voting for him would have been treason. He basically blew that all up to play again, especially in Minnesota a year later. He has had other stuff happen off field after that…. Stuff the average Packer fan no longer wanted to cover up. He didn’t matter anymore to most. He was the enemy and the Vikings were winning and kept winning that first year. Favre graciously was welcomed back to be a Packer a few years ago when he went into the Hall and the Packers Ring of Honor, but let’s not let that fool us. This is the truth and then some… if he didn’t throw that crazy pick in the 2009 NFC Championship game and Petersen didn’t have the crazy fumbles that game, they move on to the Super Bowl, where they would probably be favored to win. And if he wins there, in purple, his future glory days in GB would cease to exist. No cheers, just boos. Benedict Arnold and sadly years of being everything we loved about him would be erased. Throwing that pick and losing saved a remnant of his legacy in Green Bay, even though on a national stage he would be thought of more highly…. ESPECIALLY in Minnesota ( which would be with us every stinking time we played the Vikings), So no way is Favre as loved now, maybe a tenth of the love is still there for him. Maybe. Nonetheless, it’s still more than Rodgers, who was better for longer.
