    We have Hall and Branyan on the bench. Get the lead first. Then pinch hit the players that fill out the end of your bench. Chances are that we'd have the lead if Branyan hit earlier. Prediction: Branyan will pinch hit. LaRussa will bring King in. Ned will yank Branyan for Hall. He'll burn Branyan without even giving him an at bat.

    The idea is that Ned pinch hits his worst bench players first. They are the 24th and 25th players on our roster. Both will be in the minors soon.

    IMO, Magruder is the last guy I want up there against lefties.

    Branyan hits for a better average. His OPS is ridiculous against RHP. Magruder hits sub .200 against RHP. That was the right move?

    You take advantage of having a home crowd behind you. Let them give you the home field advantage. They roared when Santos got called back. And a collective groan when Magruder came out.

    My main reason for hitting Branyan would be to get a run in. If he makes an out it's usually a K or a flyout. Magruder's at bat could have easily been a DP. The way the ball came off the bat.

    On Magruder hitting instead of 3TO: If we need to double switch in the outfield later, who do we use? Get the lead and momentum whenever you can.

    Wes- manlove Magruder- manlove Durrington- manlove Moeller- manlove Ned needs to play the good players, not the ones that fit on the manlove list.

    I would think that Branyan would have been ideal there. No DP's (3TO) and he is left handed. They weren't going to pull Morris. Hall can pinch hit vs King or the other lefty. Seems elementary to me.
