  1. What it did was put the tieing runs in scoring position for your two best hitters. Smart move, that turned out to be the right move. who is to say JJ doesn't get a hit. It was a stupid move. Down 2 to give up an out.
  2. It's great that Seth McClung was able to overcome the inept manager that brought him into an impossible situation with this zone. You know, when things go wrong, blame the manager. When things go well, say so and so did it in spite of the mangaer. Every move a manager makes is determined good or bad based on the performance of the PLAYERS. great post. First i made the call before he threw a pitch. Second i acknowledged he pitched well . third thanks for letting me know its about the players. 4 ned is a fool.
  3. everyone gets hot when prince homers.
  4. another helping of crow please. OK stop relaxing and start pressing
  5. great idea bringing mcpoop in here with this zone, ned. beautifull baseball mind
  6. ok braun, weeks, hardy, feilder, hall wake up. Craig is doing it. sheesh
  7. breaking bucks news interrupts the brewer broadcast.
  8. when does bfan start to rip into skaalen? This site has torn other hitting coaches apart. Jim seems to get a pass
  9. pitcher in the 8, joe dillion in 3.
  10. how does line-up continuity help production? I argue for less than the drawback of batting the pitcher 8. But i make this argument with braun, fielder or even pujois batting third.
  11. -thats too much back for that number. dig it
  12. i cant believe we are batting the pitcher 8 with dillion three. This is just stupid.
  13. considering our record, you could almost post this is the silver linning thread
  14. i am glad ned was responsive to their request. Not sure why the change was ever made in the first place. No if we can just bat our pitcher ninth I'd be happy
  15. yes. start joe dillion at first. (first start of the year) prince should think it about for two days. I can remember him responding to time-off in the past. let him know tonight so he can hit up a NY steak house.
  16. No it doesn't. Those 20 PAs are easily made up by the fact that the pitcher is hit for late in games. yes it does. are you saying that the 8 hole doesnt come up more than the 9 throughout the course of the season? Double switches whatever, anyway you shake it. The 8 hole bats more than the 9.
  17. Yeah, the pitcher in the 8 hole experiment has just been a disaster thus far. i love it when people pick fights in the vent thread. 3000+ posts so i am sure i don't have to explain that you can still win games and make stupid managerial moves. Tell me how it has been effective. From what i see, JJ has two hits and the 8 hole has come up in a ton of rbi situations. My point is simply this, there is a reason almost every team in the recent history of the NL bats the pitcher ninth. That is becuase 8 hole gets more ABS than the 9 hole through the course of a season.
  18. ben sheets in the 8 hole. just absurd
  19. brewers pitchers still in the 8 hole. please come to your senses ned. oh wait, ....probably need senses to come to. What are you doing simba?
  20. I guess this misconception has yet to be put to rest. Ned was in about the middle of MLB in terms of different lineups last year. i'd be interested to see your source. did it exclude changes becuase of injury? my point is that he was a juggler last year (esp at the start) and now he isn't. He uses stats sometimes and other times he uses "flow of the game". There just seems to be no pattern in his decision making. I wouldn't have a problem with that style if it were effective.
  21. i can't believe ned has the nerve to talk about lineup continuity. this is guy who juggled last years lineup more than bobo at a birthday party. I wish ned would just come out say, "hey, i manage the way i feel like managing. If morning oatmeal tells to buck the statistics i will, if my OJ says counsell needs 3-400 abs i'll do it".
  22. i guess that number is equally as astonishing as rickies 50 percent k rate. Page one, razzor actually hit some of my underlying motivation for this discussion. I did draft him, probably a bitearly, i was hoping for some real reassurance that he'll be ok. that number actually works a bit for me.
