100% agree with your point here, the options seem limited and I don't buy the Brewers signing a multi million dollar starting third baseman. Adding power at third and seeing if Burger can improve some of these splits is risky.

At the very least they should add a decent but inexpensive bat that has played 3rd base before, I liked the idea of getting Jake Burger from the Rangers even if he’s not a good fielder since he plus Vaughn could patch the spot until Made is ready and Burger can play 1st when Vaughn is traded/hits FA

I could see another buy low trade for a 3B but I doubt the Brewers pay for one; I think Jake Bauers and Tyler Black to the Rangers for Jake Burger (who would compete at 3rd and be backup at 1st) could make sense for both sides.

Watch us sell them both for Anthony Volpe and Ben Hess, surely they can fix his defense right? (;--;)

This is a big no no in my eyes, Logan Henderson is a pitcher the Brewers need to hang onto. Robert Gasser is a maybe at best and he’s the only young pitcher I’d even consider moving.

I’d throw Luis Rengifo’s name into the mix as well, could this be an increased confidence in Tyler Black? This trade reeks of the Brewers not wanting to pay for a veteran starter. I do think they can bring the best out of the pitchers they got, but having to include a pick in this deal is head scratching.

I believe in the prospect return exclusively because they play for the Milwaukee Brewers right now, but I do think the Brewers did a good job of finding their targets and making a deal happen to get them. We will all miss Freddy and while I wish the Brewers could've considered making a bigger boom or bust move (i.e. Marlins getting Owen Caissie), they did a fantastic job of letting the market continue to expand until they got their guys. From what I see Jett and Sproat will be two consistent short kings over the next half decade, hopefully some of our other young pitching develops so the special infielders in the farm system can continue the Brewers' past 8 seasons of success.

I agree that San Diego can only offer quantity not quality, but I think the Braves do have the capital but it's whether they're willing to part with Hurston Waldrep, who I'd feel could be a package starter in a winning bid for Peralta. In your opinion with a trade for Baty, where would you play him? Does Turang rotate in more often at shortstop and get Durbin more comfortable with playing second base?

I love the Orioles position player prospects if you're looking down the road, but I personally wouldn't be interested in anyone on their major league roster. If Dylan Beavers is who you were referring to, I'd be happy if he got traded to the Brewers.

Considering the asking price of a young, controllable, major league starting pitcher for Freddy Peralta, it could be difficult to land a major league ready hitter in a trade package without also including one of the Brewers outfielders or Trevor Megill. I will say I'm a fan of including one of our center fielders [Mitchell or Perkins] in a Yankees trade (the Yankees really need an outfielder with a good arm and glove) if it means getting the starter, a minor league pitcher who can make the MLB and Jasson Dominguez/Spencer Jones.

Thank you for some in depth information on all of these throwers! I'm inclined to believe after signing Ranger Suarez that the Boston Red Sox aren't going to be as aggressive in the Freddy Peralta mix, but in a world where I'm wrong about that, they have so many pitching prospects that Payton Tolle is probably the last one they'd give up (I agree he's the most exciting, Emmet Sheehan is also exciting but may be used to trade for Tarik Skubal instead [it's sickly that the Dodgers farm system is as good as ours]). There are enough pitching return possibilities out there for an additional article (I think you did great on capturing prospects, but if you wanted names that came to my mind I can comment them) but of the included names I think someone could give up for Freddy Peralta, I'd be most excited about Jonah Tong. I feel like the Brewers could up the curveball percentage in Tong's arsenal and really make that changeup a second strikeout pitch. An ideal return is Tong, a 2nd pitcher in the minors (maybe 1 of Jack Wenninger, Jonathan Santucci or Will Watson) and a young player with a better shot in the Brewers system (an example I see is Edward Lantigua, a 19 y/o OF in the Dominican Republic who needs help with contact).

I'll take the opposite road here and say the Yankees are now MORE likely to trade for Freddy Peralta than before, it was clear they didn't want to have to rely on Paul Blackburn or Ryan Yarborough being a part of their initial rotation. The Brewers asking price for Peralta has to involve at least 1 young, major league ready starting pitcher, of which the Yankees needed surplus; most teams need at least 2 extra rotation level players for Spring Training with the frequency of pitching injuries, the Brewers got more than bailed out of their injuries last season by trading for Quinn Priester when Boston's rotation had stabilized. I say this but a lot of teams are in the mix, depending on the strength of his market I believe the Padres can trade 3 solid pitchers (Randy Vasquez, Miguel Mendez and one of their A level prospects) to land Peralta if they're not priced out.

In terms of Yankees pitchers & the trade value the Brewers have asked for, the secondary and/or tertiary piece in a trade headlining Luis Gil better be solid (e.g. both Dillon Lewis & Ben Hess) to make the move. I'd much rather try to include Trevor Megill in the deal if it means being able to land Will Warren, who has an extra 2 years of control & could develop an elite sweeper in the Brewers' system. Even something as simple as Peralta & Megill for Warren, Brendan Beck (#11 Yankees system, 27 y/o who could be a mid-reliever) & Brandon Jones (#15 Yankees system, 24 y/o OF prospect who fits the Brewers mold) nets huge upside while still moderately favoring the Yankees.
