  1. To be fair, Murphy made great pitching choices today: he went to Chad Patrick instead of letting Gasser finish the 5th, then he went with Ashby and Uribe when we were still down 2-1.
  2. He's gonna win the platinum glove and MVP and deserve them both.
  3. Cubs bringing in that Zeff-whatever guy. He's been shelled lately so fingers crossed.
  4. The accordion player was just playing the Violent Femmes, odd combo.
  5. It is a pleasure to have Joey O. defending 3rd base.
  6. Good point, but the very best catchers have adjusted to that: challenging the often-taken up and away corner of the box is what separates the good from the average.
  7. Cubs' Carson Kelly has a 72% success rate with ABS. See, Gary? It CAN be done.
  8. Braves lost to the Phillies. So, a little help from our friends.
  9. Around May or June-ish, I fear. Some pretty hardened positions will have to soften first: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/49786246/mlb-labor-2026-players-survey-salary-cap-cba-negotiations-lockout-mlbpa
  10. I agree; it's almost certainly roster manipulation, but it must be an accepted practice because I've watched the Cubs do the same thing all season (they've had 39 -- 39! -- different pitchers on their roster this season). And it wouldn't be the first time the Brewers did some manipulating: remember when Uribe served his 1 game suspension after pitching 3 days out of 4?
  11. This whole game's been a hot mess. For tomorrow, hope springs eternal.
  12. That pitch missed by 3 inches. That's the furthest from the strike zone I've ever seen challenged. First game jitters, I guess.
  13. Does anyone know how Harrison was tipping his pitches last time? Is he doing it again?
  14. I suspect BA's reassurance that the pigeon's going to a "farm upstate" is BS. My parents tried that one on me when I was a kid.
  15. I secretly believe analytics overrates the Brewers' defense. We're good, but definitely only small 'g' good.
