  1. why mageehee? What a waste of an at bat. Might as well left Marcum out there to hit.
  2. Seems like a lot of balls to CF lately where we're saying, "Well, Gomez would have caught that one." Morgan struggling at the plate and in the field. His big hit against the Dbacks will be all that's remembered, though.
  3. Here's some gems from the stltoday.com game thread: 1. "...worst announcers I have ever heard..no knowledge of the teams..unbelievable." (complaining about the announcers was common). 2. Here's a comment on the pitcher, Garcia: "Any chance we can take back that contract we gave this weak-minded piece of dung. He is no good period and he plays the game like a little baby." 3. "garcia sucks. tony's an idiot. and the play by play guy is ecstatic" 4."Whats wrong with that stupid announcer ???? Does he think he is in Brewer TV or what??? Someone on TBS should say something to him" 5. "Alright, someone on the Brewers needs to get some chin music. I'm so sick of them showboating after home runs. Let them know there's going to be a price to pay for that." 6. "lots of loud bandwagoners at Miller Park" 7. "The Brewers are stealing signs somehow... I don't know how they are doing it, but they KNOW what pitch is coming..." (there were lots of Brewers cheating comments, too) 8. "The announcer is a disgrace he sounds like he is having an orgasm every time the Brewers score. Its bad enough to see this beating put to hear this guy having the time of his life?? When the Cardinals did score it was a completely different emotion by those clowns" Well, that's about all I can stand to read for now.
  4. I know some people get disgusted with some posters on this site when things go bad, but I think the for the most part this site is excellent. Check out the STLtoday.com Cards forum. It's really quite unbelievable how bad they whine. They're even criticizing BA for getting t0o excited on the HR's. http://interact.stltoday....r=asc&&start=420
  5. Yuni, how can a major league hitter constantly hit UNDER the ball? edit: somtimes they go OVER the fence!!!!
  6. The Brewers needed a lights out performance by Greinke. He's the highest paid pitcher on the team. They didn't get it. They spotted him a 4-1 lead against the Dbacks. He couldn't hold it. Discouraging.
  7. That's why I wondered why everyone kept saying that we had the pitching advantage. How?Because our pitching has been better all season. You can't use a few bad postseason starts and assume the pitching has been bad all year. The pitching is how we got here in the first place. And don't forget that the Cardinals are a really good hitting team.I never said the Brewers pitching was bad all year. But, besides Yo, who has been pitching consistenly well the last month?
  8. That's why I wondered why everyone kept saying that we had the pitching advantage. How?
  9. No, most were close to being strikes, it's just that he should've had better situational awareness and made him throw one down the pipe before swinging with less than two strikes.dlk, you used the term "situational awareness" while talking about Bettancourt. You should know better.
  10. I have a bad feeling that the Cards are going to win this series in five. The addition of Furcal has changed their team. Plus, Gallardo doesn't have a good career record vs. the Cards. The good news is that I'm usually wrong on these types of predictions.
  11. The games against the Dbacks were nerve-wracking. The games against the Cards should be the same times 10. I can't wait.
  12. "Be careful what you wish for." That is what I've been saying to people who wanted St. Louis in the NLCS. Yes, the Brewers have the home field advantage, but that can change quickly. Well written post Valpo. I was thinking along the same lines a few hours ago. This is not the Packers/Bears NFC Championship. The Brewers are playing a legitimate championship caliber team.
  13. I could change my avatar to a picture of a dead squirrel. Instead I'll leave it at Robin. When the Brewers make it to the WS, I'll change it to a current member.
  14. The Cards don't have Sutter on the mound this time. I like our chances.
