  1. I heard that on the TV broadcast. So that's what that was. Shouldn't Miller Park personnel taken care of that?
  2. (As a public service announcement that I am not a Yost apologist) Why is Rickie Weeks ever in the game anymore after the 7th inning with the Brewers leading?
  3. Bunting = not always evil/stupid ... Amazing how perception of a play changes when the player actually executes.
  4. Oh, heck. You didn't have to do that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  5. Hey walkoff, you didn't get your signature idea here, did you? p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...21&stop=40 Forgive me if I'm being full of myself. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. Reunited with .500 ... and it feels so good.
  7. No, the bottom line is the Brewers need to be over .500 by the end of the season. I know what you're trying to say, but getting back to .500 would not be impossible if they're not there by the end of the homestand. By my count, there's still 25 games after that. That's still a lot of baseball left to make up only 2-4 games on .500. Unless of course you're talking about the WC race, at which point I exit the discussion.
  8. I apologize to the posters here at BF.net for, in effect, starting an argument in tonight's IGT. It was not my intention. I just lost my patience over ... well ... you know by now. And it's not my nature to get into those kinds of heated debates. In the future, I'll try my best when I see the incessant Yost-bashing on here to just roll my eyes and steer clear. Of course, that will severely reduce the number of threads I can participate in (rim shot), but I digress. I can't promise the same about the Wild Card discussions. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif (At least I still have my sense of humor!)
  9. Well, I'm standing by that one, so I guess we're at an impasse. (edit) And I meant that one in general, to many people who were complaining during a blowout victory.
  10. bjames, my aforementioned post was in response to "you obviously don't understand how to use a bench and bullpen." I think we have a glass house situation here.
  11. Homer, I'm sorry I feel that way, too, because there are times I really do enjoy talking Brewers on this board. It's just getting so exhausting. And it's not necessarily like that on all boards. I frequent at least two others (one HS, one college) that come nowhere close to the consistent one-man bashing that goes on here.
  12. I wrote in the post that I didn't expect anyone to care. There's no need to be a jerk about it.
  13. Homer, not at this volume. And who's to say everything brought up here is Yost in the wrong? That's exactly the problem. Too many around here think Yost has pudding for brains and every single decision he made is a poor one. It's just getting too much to sift through.
  14. If only it were just one person's. I'm seriously this close to making my stay at BF.net a short one. (I don't expect anyone to care. Just saying.) For crying out loud, in a blowout victory, half the posters are still nagging at Yost. There's just too much of it around here to stomach anymore. And no, I don't know how to use a bench. That's why I'm a fan, not a coach. I apologize if I was disagreeing with an expert.
  15. Boy, Ned really cannot win on this site. Unbelievable. Is it the end of the world if Fielder doesn't bat or JDLR doesn't pitch tonight? Geez. Take a night off from the know-it-all act and enjoy a victory. It really gets old.
  16. Why take him out when he's doing so well and there's a big lead?
  17. Seriously? (sigh) What have you seen out of this team all season that makes you think it's still capable of competing for the Wild Card? 10 out of 12? Are you kidding me? Have the Brewers won 5 out of 7 this year? (I'm exaggerating to make a point. Please don't look that up.) .500 has been, still is and should be the goal this season. The WC is a pipe dream. The Brewers just aren't good enough, plain and simple.
  18. Split on road vs. Astros while facing Clemens, Pettitte = good. You really can't argue that.
  19. When he's throwing well, which he clearly was tonight, Sheets is one of the best in the biz. If he was OK, leaving him in for the 9th was far and away the best plan. A tiring, not-throwing-strikes Davis, on the other hand, should have been pulled last night. That was also the right move. I know it's hard for some folks here to accept that Yost made two sound decisions on consecutive nights, but don't worry. I'm sure he'll do something tomorrow that is mind-bogglingly stupid. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  20. P.S. That's right. I said mind-bogglingly.
  21. And had Yost left Davis in, and a tired, 100-plus pitch Davis allowed the go-ahead runs, Nedly would have been crucified here for leaving Davis in too long. Seriously, it's like trying to swim uphill in a mudslide.
  22. Problem is, even if the Crew goes on a 4- or 5-game winning streak, any of the other 800 teams in front of them could do the same and they'd be no closer. I would love it -- Love it! -- if the Brewers were within a couple of games of the WC as the season drew to a close. But I don't see it happening. .500 remains the goal.
  23. In line with The Automator, I offer one of my first Yost-bashing posts. Magruder batting No. 2 vs. Clemens? Yikes. Is Sheeter not available to play the CF tonight?
  24. This team is slowly going from maddeningly inconsistent to consistently bad. I hope that's not a trend.
