  1. With the recalls Hydroxycut had a few years ago and, and the possibility that it causes liver damage, I don't know why anyone would want to try it. I don't think there is any proof that Hydroxycut or any similar products help you lose weight. It's basically just a ton of caffeine. Take a caffeine pill and/or drink green tea before a workout and you will probably see the same benefit Hydroxycut gives you.
  2. That's besides the point though. We could find plenty of balls worse than what we are switching to. It just seems like a bit much to take away the good bats and switch to this ball. I guess we'll have to wait and see though.
  3. These pretzels are making me thirsty!
  4. Well, I guess I was just so heart broken about losing the Reaper I blocked out everything you were saying. Actually I listened, I just saw a pdf file earlier today that said this is only being done for all other leagues besides social leagues and co-ed. It also said we have to take the bats in to the rec department and it gave dates for when they were doing the testing. The pdf was dated 3/13 so I'm guessing they changed how they are handling this. I just wanted to make sure. Sorry for the confusion.
  5. I can't find anything on where we have to go to get this done. Was there any info given out at the manager's meeting? What about the standards the bat has to meet to be legal? We are also switching to crappy balls in this league as well. It should be an interesting season.
  6. Beeks will most likely be able to make it now.
  7. Nick and Radman can't make it.
  8. Beeks wouldn't be able to make it at 2. Al and I can. Lafollette Park works.
  9. I haven't used one this year, but I used one from rotowire last year and preferred to use excel over it. The rotowire one had a lot of issues and would freeze up and close out on me too, so I didn't want to take the chance that would happen during the draft. There really wasn't much of a benefit to it over excel other than I could keep track of other teams.
  10. I'll be there. Al will be there. Beeks will be there, but might have to leave early depending on the time.
  11. We should try to get a practice going one of these weekends. We have to take advantage of this weather!
  12. The button up shirts look too much like golf shirts.
  13. I would be in for jerseys. I like the navy blue without the buttons the best. Edit: Actually I think I would like the button up navy blue ones depending on how the logo would fit with the buttons.
  14. Tyler isn't going to be able to play this year. He said he could fill in as a sub if we needed an extra guy though.
  15. I believe there are only 4 original guys left and only 3 have shirts. It wouldn't matter if you didn't want to get a shirt, but either one is fine if you did.
  16. NO! I would assume this is about the potential ban of composite bats for 2013 which has been talked about last year I believe. I've never seen anyone get hurt in any league I've ever played in and I think it's a stupid overreaction. I think the problem is coming from those that are using illegal bats with juiced up balls. I am not in favor of the league using aluminum only.
  17. I believe Happy no longer plays because he plays hard ball now.
  18. Al is in.
  19. Beeks and I will be returning. I'm still waiting to hear back from Al.
  20. 1. I think most would agree that both Milwaukee and Wisconsin are bigger Packer fans and football in general. 2. Up until the 1994, games were played at both County Stadium in Milwaukee and Lambeau Field in Green Bay. I think most people come up from Milwaukee regardless which is roughly a 2hr drive depending on where you are coming from. 3. It depends on what sport is in season when you go to a bar. I think it's roughly an even split. It depends on the bar and the people too. 4. The Brewers are definitely more popular now than they were in the mid 1990s through early 2000s. I can't say before that since I was too young to remember. I'm sure the early 1980s they were just as popular as they are now.
  21. This is a very interesting topic. What are some of the popular forums for discussing stuff like this?
  22. Yeah I hate just going out and running a couple miles. It's not fun. Soccer is a lot more fun. I like that I'm forced to run harder as well since I don't want to let the rest of the team down. If you ever need an extra player let me know. I'm always looking to play some more.
  23. I played soccer up until I was 19 or 20 and then my team fell apart as everyone moved away, stopped playing, or whatever. I just started playing soccer again this spring and it made me realize how out of shape I got. It's great motivation to workout though. I will be playing Monday nights in Brookfield starting the last Monday of October I believe. When and where do you play?
  24. I'm looking to drop 10 pounds of fat and build muscle. The biggest thing for me right now is to lose the weight which is all on my gut. I recently started running 2 and occasionally 3 times a week and go anywhere from 2-4 miles depending on how much time I have. I also play softball twice a week and soccer twice a week. Both of the soccer and softball seasons end in 3 weeks so my schedule is pretty tight until then. After that I will only be playing soccer indoor once a week so I will have plenty of time to add some weight lifting. I am 27 years old and about 6'1'' 190 pounds. I was wondering if you could give me a weight lifting plan to follow and how many sets/reps I should do of each. I'd like to lift 4 times a week. I am just not very good at knowing what type of lifting to do and when to do it. My goals would be to lose the belly fat, increase speed and jumping ability, and add muscle. I currently eat pretty healthy but once I start lifting, how many calories should I be consuming? How far should I run when I start lifting? I have a Y membership so I will have access to all their typical weights and machines. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer everyone's questions. This thread has been very helpful.
