  1. Hawkins hasn't been the poster child for luck this year, but he finally gets a break when one of those 37 hop singles dies in the outfield and tempts the runner into trying for second.
  2. Like the play by Braun there, down 2, bases empty, 3B on the back of the dirt, power hitter next. Bunt is a very smart play there.
  3. They've gone to the postgame show on FSN, this delay will be exactly 30 minutes before the game is called. Gave up 3 runs, but Naverson took the bullet nicely tonight.
  4. Thinking it's not their weekend after the Mauer HBP, Morneau just confirmed it.
  5. The radar is really filling in north to south. This one may not resume for a long while. I'll give the grounds crew credit, they got the field covered in a hurry.
  6. Per Telly, that's what the grounds crew wanted to do, but the umps wanted to wait for the rain. Ummm, wish the ground crew got their way.
  7. Last inning was a prime example of why you need to have a pitch that bends to have any MLB success. The SS was throwing 90 and hitting his spots OK and was crushed because every pitch was a fastball.
  8. Small victory of sorts, Manuel was trying to get Moyer to the inevitable rain delay but had to pull him. Durbin's going to look like he throws 110 compared to Moyer.
  9. Hall with a mid-season level takeout slide at 2nd. Didn't stop the DP, but if a guy's dropping takeout slides like that on ST getaway day, that's a good sign
  10. 4th straight start on 3 days rest, (and they had no choice, given the way the series dates fell) turned out to be a bridge too far. Had the wall been hit on the third start, we wouldn't be here right now. Hope Miller is a zoo the next two games and try to get back here with CC on normal rest. I'm not a big fan of managers getting tossed, but if Sveum had a "discussion" with the HP ump after giving Stetter instructions, it wouldn't have bothered me in the least.
  11. I wish Brian and Bill would wait until they show a single solitary sign of life on offense before talking about celebrations today.

  13. Braun made a decent pass at the ball, but down on the trademark. Otherwise, it's been really weak out there.

  15. Durham with the "tougher than it looks" DP. New pitcher coming in.

  17. Glad we only see this guy for a couple of innings.

  19. Don't tell me this is going to be a game where every leak is exposed. Duck snort, bad error, don't get a 50/50 call and it's 1-0.

  21. Shea was a morgue tonight, Mets announcers kept commenting on that tonight. Mentally, the Mets fans are where we were about 8 days ago.
  22. Do you realize how big this is that Marmol's coming in now. There is absolutely no way he pitches all three games this series, so you know you won't see him both Saturday and Sunday as he gets his work in tonight. It will be Lou's option, but you know he'll get one of the next two days off.
  23. Mets' announcers bemoaning the fact that at almost the exact same moment they went down 3-0, the Brewers tied it up. FWIW, I don't care much for Cohen, but Hernandez and Darling have a very good "stream of consciousness" type of rapport.
