  1. You do have insurance, right? Call your agent right away. They will be able to provide guidance and start the claims process.
  2. I had forgotten how bad 2000 was. I made money by shoveling people's roofs. Only fell off a few, but it was okay, with the 4 feet of piled snow on the ground.
  3. (Raises hand) Sigur Ros fan. Do not have the new album though.
  4. Good description cwolf. The separation of different types of information into different DMZs is very critical from an enterprise standpoint. I always explain it like walls of a castle. This particular bug though, as I understand it, was not infecting web servers. It was purposefully dropped onto web servers to harvest data from IE users stored password data. So, the concern was more towards a users local machine. The hackers had initially used it to obtain game passwords, but there was nothing stopping them from going farther. Now, keep in mind that this would only be useful for simple one-factor authentication -- if both your username and password are stored together on a single page. All banking applications were forced to move onto a multi-factor authentication over a year ago. So, if your computer is not registered, then it should ask you for a piece of personal information as well, that a hacker would not have the ability to obtain (unless they were trying to selectively social engineer you (See Palin, Sarah email)). Additionally, with some simple measures on a webpage, you can alter the form field names to disallow the saving of passwords. This is something all sites should do. In fact, I think browsers should simply disallow the saving of any passwords, period. If you want a simplified password management, then use something with a thumbprint scanner or the like.
  5. "I used to be a big Trot Nixon fan. but then I went to college, got married, went to law school and had three kids. " That was hilarious. Thank you. But seriously.... Trot Nixon?
  6. Coming from someone who works everyday in internet security: Stick to Opera or Firefox: http://news.zdnet.co.uk/s...000000189,39578379,00.htm In fact, add Stealther to Firefox. Download Avast or AVG. Pay attention to URLs. Your bank will never ask for personal information by email. Never click on links from emails. When a popup says you have spyware, click on it and you will get spyware. That's it for now.
  7. Well, maybe it's smug, but I figure if you're going to have 3-4 months of spine-cramping cold then you might as well get snow. Snow isn't so bad really. At least you can enjoy it. Cold can not be enjoyed.
  8. Very good point. If you want a good starting point for expectations, we should be looking at pre all-star break 2008 Brewers. Not too bad. Not championship, but not terrible. We need more development from the minors or a surprise deal.
  9. If Hall is in the deal, then there can never be Kei Igawa. It would have to be Ian Kennedy or the like. Kennedy/Cabrera/Low-level Pitcher for Hall/Cameron?
  10. I found this morning's air brisk and refreshing. Like a slap to the face from Winter saying "wake up man, enjoy your home.... spend time with loved ones... be awesome to each other." And I said, "thank you Winter, you are wise."
  11. True, but you are shedding the 10 million for Cam. So, aren't we still coming out with 4 million in space in the deal? If Igawa is really useless, then you pull a Vargas on him.
  12. I would argue that Cameron is a descending player as well. If you look at recent centerfielders like Griffey and Bernie Williams, they seemed to hit a wall in their mid 30s. Once that range goes, you have little else. I'd hate to be spending all of 09 watching Cameron slow down and everyone covering for it with 'reputation'. Melky has three things that Cameron does not: 1. Potential offensive growth -- He has good offensive numbers in the past, and is very young. Cameron actually defied the odds last year and will not be able to find lightning in a bottle again. 2. Salary room -- Gives us the ability to add other pieces 3. Tradable asset beyond 09 -- We would control Melky for a few years and could use him in a package. Cam is a one-year guy. Cameron has two things Melky does not: 1. Defensive experience 2. Power numbers Cameron is a flawed player. Melky is a flawed player. But Melky could give us more return, especially on small investment.
  13. I will go out on a limb and say that Melky Cabrera will not only be better in 2009 than Mike Cameron, but be a valuable asset for the next 5-7 years. I think Cameron is done. Do the deal.
  14. Where's Glendon Rusch?
  15. Funny episode. I really loved the wrapping of Dwight's desk. The pranks never get old. The look on Dwight's face when he and Angela were 'outed' was also priceless. I think I'm going to have a Moroccan Christmas this year.
  16. Kennedy would be nothing more than a Dave Bush type of a pitcher. Hughes would cost more in paying of Cameron's salary than Kennedy though.Kennedy has some great minor league numbers- 1.99 ERA 0.97 WHIP Bush had some higher numbers in the minors - 3.36 ERA 1.14 WHIP Even if Kennedy was just slightly better... wouldn't we all take another (slightly-better) Dave Bush?
  17. Let's just tell the Yankees to pay all of Cam's salary and throw in another 20 mil back to us. It worked for CC. Seriously though, I think we need to find a way to grab either Kennedy or Hughes. We need young pitching more than anything right now.
  18. Okay, I could see the grand vision if it were something like: Cam & Hall for Melky & Kennedy Then we could sign Dunn and have something like this: SP - Gallardo, Parra, Soup, Bush, Kennedy RP - Villy, McClung, Julio, Swindle, Coffey, Riske, Stetter 1B - Fielder 2B - Weeks SS - Hardy/Escobar 3B - Hardy/Gamel C - Kendall LF - Dunn CF - Braun RF - Hart/Melky That's really not too bad.
  19. Really, Melky isn't too bad. And he may benefit greatly from a change of scenery. He's still young. We've all looked into our centerfield options. They are slim. We could have had one last season with Cam and then rolled the dice, but at least we're looking for a long term answer here.
