  1. Tough crowd. He's had a rough stretch in general post injury for sure, but those last 2 outs today were barreled up pretty well to the warning track.
  2. If the 2024 Brewer season was a reality TV show, it would definitely end with Murphy proposing to Jake Bauers at the end of the season.
  3. Way to cash in big on that leadoff double, fellas.
  4. The sad truth is, I think most of us knew that a healthy Corbin Burnes, Brandon Woodruff, and Freddy Peralta was the best Brewer rotation we would see in our lifetimes. We knew how good we had it, and we knew it wouldn't last forever.
  5. Civale is absolute hot garbage.
  6. Perception seems to be that we've struggled since the AS break. Yet our record since the break is 7-5. I'm guilty of it too, watch us play a little, scoreboard watch, lose 2 games to the Cardinals in 2 days and thinking "welp, we're well on our way to blowing this division." Look up at the standings 2 days later, and hmm, odd, we have the biggest divisional lead in MLB. Feels like it's gone that way all season.
  7. Ok, that's fair. You're saying if the stuff continues to be the same, the results will follow. I can understand that. Hope we see it, would be huge to have a reliable starting arm for the playoffs.
  8. Alright. Well, not no one, then.
  9. I can't believe our deadline acquisition gave up 3 runs in 5 innings and people love it. I don't care what his velocity was. Everyone throws upper 90s these days. I don't care about avoiding walks when you're allowing nearly 2 hits an inning. I'm stunned that anyone would refer to a 5 IP 3 ER start as something they want to see every time and refer to that as "the acquisition of the deadline". I feel like I'm living in the Twilight Zone. I can't believe the lengths people are going to to force themselves to love this trade.
  10. I've already beaten this to death in the Montas thread, but no one decided that Junis was a (negative??) asset and Wiemer had very little value until after the fact. No one was saying this a week ago.
  11. I mean he could have done nothing differently and it would have been 5 IP 5 ER if Payamps gives up a sac bunt and a single. I think a little more context than the "Soup pitched great" line of 5/3 is needed here.
  12. Crazy that the Pirates have never won the division. Ever. NL Central that is.
  13. I can definitely understand that. Hopefully there are better starts ahead. Just don't understand anyone trying to rationalize that he pitched well when that clearly wasn't the case.
  14. And I hope Fedde continues to struggle. But he definitely had the far better body of work for this season, so there's a little more reason to believe better days ahead while with Montas, this is kind of who he's been all season.
  15. Good job by Payamps bailing him out.
  16. Montas was not good tonight. I get that people want badly to try to believe in the acquisition but I cannot believe that anyone thought he pitched "fine" tonight.
  17. I feel like the baseball gods smite Turang in any AB that he attempts a bunt.
  18. And he does! On an 0-2 pitch! Way to go Blake!
  19. According to GameDay, all 4 pitches to Ortiz were strikes.
  20. 3 runs in 5 innings is an offensive issue?
  21. This isn't specifically about you at all, and there's definitely some success stories that came from the Brewers pitching lab, but I always find it a little insulting to other pitching coaches that we assume our guys can just pick up a guy like Montas and "fix" him in a few starts. I mean the guy in charge of fixing him this entire season was Derek Johnson, and we thought he walked on water when he had a Brewer uniform on.
  22. He's been knocked around in his first 4 innings against one of the weaker lineups in the NL. So far, exactly as expected. Not every move the Brewers make needs to be rationalized.
  23. Brewers scratching their heads trying to figure out why their 5.00 ERA acquisition is pitching like a guy with a 5 ERA.
