  1. So he was just activated to ...not pitch?
  2. I would definitely care if he went 0 for his next 146. That would really not be what we need at the top of the order.
  3. Great job Jackson...in spite of a trash homeplate ump.
  4. It should be bases loaded, nobody out. I absolutely despise umpires that go, "well, the count is 3-0, so I'm going to give him a little extra or "well, the count is 0-2, so I better shrink the zone some." THE DAMN ZONE IS THE SAME IN ANY COUNT.
  5. Black is just clueless at the plate. Missed opportunity.
  6. Probably could have been worse. Need to start getting some offense going.
  7. Go get him before this game is out of reach. He does not have it tonight.
  8. Tobias is clearly not at his best today. Gibson seems vulnerable too, but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.
  9. Myers doing his best Matt Garza impression out there. Pitchers who can't make accurate throws to bases always blew my mind. You'd think by virtue of their job they'd be the most accurate throwers on the field. At least the Cardinals screwed it up anyway.
  10. The irony of how bad Hoskins has been is that it means we get to be stuck with him next year too.
  11. "First adjustment we're going to make is that we want you to throw the ball faster"
  12. I wasn't thrilled with the Burnes trade at the time but it's hard to say in hindsight that it was bad. No doubt this would have been Burnes' last year as a Brewer, trade or not. So I'd say getting 6 years of a 3 WAR middle infielder alone makes losing the final year more than worth it.
  13. It's not even them, but actually the Cubs that are in 2nd place now. Unfortunately for them, the deficit is 11.5 games.
  14. I'm not saying he's perfect, but Devin has that closer "extra gear" that I can't really explain where the great ones have this extra zone when they get in trouble where they can often find just a little more.
  15. Yeah true ....that doesn't really make sense. You don't activate a guy to give him another day.
  16. Sit down, Pham...one of my least likeable guys in baseball.
  17. Really nice outing for Montas. I had pretty much chalked this trade up as a loss but if he can contribute in the playoffs the way he did tonight, not so much. He definitely had me eating some crow tonight. Right now the Brewers rotation kind of reminds me of the Packers WR corps. No #1's...but quite a few guys who can get the job done on any given day.
  18. Radio call on Adames' error.: "You don't see that very often." 🤣 what? You've been seeing it for months now. He's a complete butcher.
  19. Of today's starters: 1) Chourio 2) Ortiz 3) Mitchell 4) Contreras 5) Adames 6) Hoskins 7) Turang 8) Black 9) Frelick Chourio is our best hitter and should get the most ABs. I don't understand why Ortiz can't sniff the top of the order. He has some power, some speed. He hit well all year, got hurt, went into a big slump after returning and is hitting again. I don't care for Mitchell a ton at #3, it was just to sandwich him in between righties, there isn't a great spot from them. After that it's pretty easy. Turang, Black for now, and certainly Frelick belong in spots that get the least ABs.
  20. And Adames makes it gloriously not matter.
  21. Kid can barely crack the MLB roster much this season, but when he does, he hits 3rd. Help me understand.
  22. Yelich's career has paralleled Braun's in a whole lot of ways. MVP level player that fell off some, huge extension that he didn't really live up to but that wasn't as much of a disaster as it is often thought, but really struggled with injuries in his 30s, especially with his back.
  23. Brewer fans: "This is the best day ever!" Yeli logging into his social media accounts: "LOL, not so fast"
  24. Obviously, these last 24 hours may be the biggest wins of the season so far. Not just for staying in the race for a top seed, but for the enormous confidence that was needed to start belonging with these guys. Still some things to work on for sure, but maybe that's confidence boosting in itself to know we won these last two despite quite a few things we can clean up.
