  1. Probably was a bad idea to leave Webb out there for like 150 pitches, Mr. Melvin. Ok it was like 110. But that's like 150 twenty years ago.
  2. Sheesh, Myers giving up bombs today. Some caught, some not.
  3. I definitely replay that one more as a fan than a meaningless preseason game, but to Anders that kick was anything but meaningless. Right now on a personal level, I would guess he's probably more concerned with the fact that he's unemployed and the kick that caused him to be unemployed, than he is with a playoff kick that he missed with the team that fired him.
  4. Been that way for a long time, too. Older Packer fans will remember the Packers drafting a kicker in the 3rd, I think his name was Brett Conway, who eventually got beat out by undrafted free agent Ryan Longwell, who went on to have a long and relatively successful career in Green Bay. As a general rule it's probably better to avoid drafting kickers whatsoever. Or take one in the 7th when you've got a bunch of extra picks that won't make the team anyway. I think there's just a really high mental factor for NFL kickers that you just don't really know if a guy will have until you see. Tampa Bay took a great college kicker all the way up in the 2nd a few years ago I think and he was a total disaster. I think Anders was a Rich B "that's my guy" pick.
  5. Anders is going to replay that last preseason kick in his head all season, maybe for the rest of his life if he never latches on again. I truly believe he makes the team if he makes it. Looked like he was starting to come around and then misses a short kick like he did a bunch of times last year and I think the organization just had it right there.
  6. Pretty disappointing way to end the series. You'd hope that the homeplate umpire would never be a major factor in a win or a loss and unforunately he indeed was today.
  7. I'd like to think not, but it's not been that long since his most prior major mental mistake game.
  8. No I agree. The Braves are the most likely opponent at this point, and I think they're a better team than either the Cardinals or Cubs, which in itself is why I'd rather face the Cardinals or Cubs.
  9. I mean I literally cannot think of one example where a Brewer manager has ever actually benched a Brewer player for lack of hustle in my entire lifetime so it's not like it's going to happen anyway.
  10. The old 4 out save incoming. The A's better hope that Miller never gets introduced to Josh Hader's agent.
  11. Totally unacceptable by Chourio.
  12. Settled down nicely after the leadoff walk.
  13. I think he was fooled because of the bunt attempt. Which is no excuse, he's just really incompetent.
  14. What are you holding up your hand for, Pat? Mitchell was a dead duck.
  15. I don't mean this as anything against you guys at all, but to me being afraid to face the Cubs or Cardinals in a 3 game series is about as much of a losing mentality as we could possibly have. Feels like being conditioned to be afraid of failure after decades of disappointment. I get it, I understand where you're coming from but man, I hope the players and organization don't feel that way. I hope they'd relish that opportunity.
  16. I'm a Brewer fan, I'm quite accustomed to the annual October tradition of a massively disappointing playoff exit. Having it be to the Cubs or Cardinals would just be a different type of disappointment. I'd gladly roll the dice on being able to hang our hat on knocking one of them out than the usual knockout by a random NL East team.
  17. Braves I would think. It would be the worst wild card.
  18. Why would we not want to play the Cubs or Cardinals to open the playoffs? They suck, and it would be highly enjoyable to end their season. If we're going to be the 3 seed, which is the most likely scenario, I'd rather open with either of them than any of the other likely alternatives.
  19. Went to go post a screenshot of the "walk" on the MLB umpires association X account and it turns out I must have done that at some point in the past because they have me blocked. No shocker that the X account for their union is just as thin skinned as their individual employees.
  20. Was a little early in the game for all the Montas victory laps. Although it should be 2-2, he absolutely was screwed in the Langiliers AB and there aren't enough words to explain how pathetic CB Bucknor is.
  21. Momentarily, we have pulled ahead of the Phillies for the 2 seed in the NL. As recently as July 13th, they were 29 games over .500, when we were only 12 over. Didn't realize how much they've scuffled in the 2nd half. 12-20. Ouch.
  22. *Holds my breath as Adames fires to 1st for the last out*
