  1. Stupid question probably. Is it possible that coffey replaces sheets? Or as above by miles, I guess it would nice to keep 3 lefties(shouse, stetter, parra) in the pen for philly.
  2. Hmm, I was kind of thinking a long road trip was exactly what they need.
  3. Right now, anyone would take Roberts over Rickie if they are "going for it." What's the price though? I could certainly live with anything while not parting with Gamel and Jeffress and some others. This may be for another thread. If we don't move for a replacement for Rickie(whether Rickie not hitting has anything to do with it at all), would it be suitable to revisit the pitcher batting 8th approach. With Hardy hitting the way he is, I think this would be one the most opportune times for it.
  4. Rickies babip is .248. That would seem to be well below what is to be expected. His K rate is down. Unfortunately, his walk rate is too. But if he could just hit around .250. I think he'll be just fine.
  5. If laporta and escobar are offered. CC would, without a doubt in my mind, be in a brewer uni by Sunday. So, we won't have to wait very long if this is true. As time goes on, the less they get for CC. I would reckon that the indians might send a reliever (kobyashi, perez) along as well. And the brewers include another minor player.
  6. I just think Gamel/LaPorta/Jeffress or whoever else would need to be traded is worth more than two games that only might matter _________ Yeah, and they might all get hurt and not ever reach the majors, as long as we're dealing with "mights." There might be better hitters that haven't reached their potential yet as well.

  9. Last year, the Brewers finished two games behind the Cubs/ a playoff spot. Two games can make a difference. ____________ You got it right. And with a front end of sheets and sabathia, with this offense. Once they get to the playoffs, all bets are off. There are no guarantees with gamel and laporta. You see guys light up minor league pitching and get to the majors and flop all the time. You do it. The sooner the better. Gamel or laporta and something else. Get him now. Raise the bar for this pathetic organization. Worry about the future later. The cubs and cards are ripe for the picking.

  12. 2B Weeks RF Gross 3B Braun 1B Fielder CF Hart LF Jenkins C Estrada SS Hardy P Bush MVB Gabe Gross. Brewer win 7-5
  13. The minute graffy goes on the DL(assuming his ankle is that bad), they can recall weeks immediately. Right?
  14. He's got 69 RBIs last I checked. He's money this year with RISP.
  15. And frankly, if parra was available. Last night more than any upcoming outing was the night to use him if he plans on starting him on Saturday. Let him go a couple innings if he gets out of that one.
  16. Yost should've got the whole infield (team for that matter) in there when he was lecturing Balfour. They all deserved an equal share. Maybe next time he'll march out there and inquire on the whereabouts of a good locale where they serve bums such as themselves. Go climb in the bottle and drink it off. Couldn't hurt their play on the road.
  17. I say hogwash to those who think it's worth trading bush for saltalamacchia. It won't happen because melvin is smarter than that. I know I'm certainly underwhelmed by the rumored deal. Send em vargas and something else if the brewers really want or need him. Look at his K/9, BB/9 and his FIP. I think he'll recover as he has begun doing as of late. He's 27, he's got a rubber arm. Some are vastly undervaluing him. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that if the offense backs him up in the second half(around 4 runs per), he'll be second in wins among our starters behind sheets in the second half.
  18. Maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing to have a guy who has the ability to bunt for a base hit batting behind hart. Move hardy to three and move braun to five or vice-versa.
  19. Since everyone wants to dump vargas and just to bump this thread since I hope Melvin at least contemplates picking him up. Vargas and dillard and maybe another mid-low level prospect for renting Dunn for the world series run. Maybe even make a play for weathers while their at it. Might hinge on if anyone will take jenks and/or mench I realize. Our outfield D in left would suffer. But that's the breaks. The brewers can use one more bat. Whether he Ks or doesn't sacrifice the runner in from 3rd should be the least of their concerns when you have one more thumper like him to worry about in the crew lineup. Hart Hardy Fielder Braun Dunn Hall Estrada weeks Looks pretty tight. Would be a homerun derby as well.
  20. I don't know if this is a topic for another thread but the brewers as a team are batting the following currently. RISP .238 3rd worst in all MLB RISP W/2 OUTS FREAKING .193 BA. .302 OBP. DEAD LAST BY A LANDSLIDE. And quite comical. Guess 95 homers make up for it and obviously impacts the number of opportunities. But give me a break. Welcome Lincecum to Milwaukee in style. Let's get that lead league in homers tonight.
  21. Gallardo's day. 2 for 3 with a double and an rbihttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. My expectations going into the season were lower than many, I expected low 80's wins and a 2nd place finish BECAUSE its a bad division. If we get through the season relatively injury free and can't make 81 wins I could see them getting rid of Yost. I don't think this team has the talent/experience to consider the season a failure if we don't reach the playoffs though, even in a bad division. Well good. Cus' this team will finish under .500 again. So I guess you can kiss Yost goodbye.
  23. Well, here's to everyone swinging from their heels on 97 MPH cheese. Tip your hat to Verlander and his easy 10+ Ks tonight boys. Now if only they can get to verlander. The tigers have some definite bullpen questions.
  24. 1) Weeks 2) Hart 3) hardy 4) fielder 5) braun 6) Jenks 7) estrada 8) hall against righties Or against lefties 1) weeks 2) hall 3) hardy 4) fielder 5) braun 6) mench 7) estrada 8) hart Or just have ned let it go to chance 1) draw straws 2) draw straws 3) draw straws 4) PRINCE 5) draw straws 6) ditto 7) ditto 8) ditto
