  1. JJ Hardy is going to go 6 for 5!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. As Al suggested, this appears to be a sop to a player to allow him to go somewhere where he can possibly make the majors. Melvin seems true to his word in this (well, maybe not in Capellan's casehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif ), and I see no reason to suspect anything more than that. Catching depth doesn't appear to be the issue it once was.
  3. Yeah! I was wondering if JJ could go 6-5 tonight, the way he's hitting lately.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  4. Didn't see the game, but this thread is very amusing: posters trying to one-up each other over who is more objective? Hilarious! And the resident hipster being just so hip? There's something about baseball that inspires increased testosterone or something similar. BTW, didn't we win?
  5. Why didn't Yost have Weeks bunt? (This was supposed to be blue)
  6. As I posted about 8 pages before, this kind of game was exactly why Suppan was worth what he was paid: he got sorta knocked around, yet he never let it result in runs, and he gave us the relief that the pen needed. The guy is a gamer and part of what could be the best starting rotation in all of baseball?! Who's better?
  7. I'm just listening and not watching, but isn't this kind of performance exactly why Suppan was worth $42 million? Man, i really like this rotation of starters - we could all be Yankee fans?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. What's the record for IGT posts before the game even starts?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. So what did Ned screw up today? (I'd have made this blue, but I'm mostly a lurker and not a poster here)
  10. How about recognizing that we will never be in the Yankee/Cub mode as far as paying players? Why is it so hard for some here to recognize that we are fans of a franchise that will likely never be able to contest with the "haves" of MLB? This is why I wish that MLB adopted something that resembles what the NFL has had in place for years! MLB has made some steps toward leveling the playing field, but IMHO they aren't in the same vicinity as the NFL and the NBA until a true cap exists!
  11. Supposedly the Stros have offered Carlos 5 years at $12 mil per?! Why would we choose to compete with such insanity? Other than Lee and Soriano, who is really out there in FA who isn't just another Dave Roberts? And why would you want a relatively low budget team to overbid on 2nd rate free agents? I don't get the supposition of the original post - why, again, would you suppose that not being stupid = cheap?
  12. Just to sorta tie things together, any bucksman post in the IGT board!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. How many examples do we all see of this: their, they're; your; you're; accept, except; etc. etc. etc. If your a true grammer nerd, it could make youse nuts, especially on the web!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  14. So if you were drafting for "need," major league need, you would draft? Catchers, then 1B, then? (Just talking position players, since everybody always needs pitching)
  15. pogo, with all due respect, until Hardy proves that this injury was a fluke and not part of a tendency, and given that some have concerns about Hall's D as a SS and his signing status, I find it hard to believe that there isn't a lot more room for SS candidates? Don't get me wrong - I want Hall to be a Brewer for a long time, but I'm not sure where. Damn, this is fun - I gotta post here more often!http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  16. Isn't catcher a weakness throughout baseball, not just with the Brewers? And while I would never advocate drafting "out of position" - I'm a Packer fan and saw Sherman do too much of that - it does seem that, despite the guys Toby listed, there is more "room" in the system for infielders and catchers to advance quickly? I like the way the system has improved over the last few years, for sure. As others have pointed out, it sure seems like the power 50 invovles a "reload" and not a "rebuild." And I do think, as a relative novice, that we've never had the pitching depth that we seem to.
  17. Thanks. Makes sense, and I should have mentioned catcher.
  18. Just curious - do you "experts" see the team looking harder at middle infielders in the next couple drafts? It sure seems like there are "enough" pitchers (never enough, I know) and OFers already in the system, but it seems a bit thin on 2B/SS types to me.
  19. I don't regularly visit the IGT, but is bucksman always the voice of "doom and gloom?" It sure seems that way to me.
  20. Just an FYI for out-of-towners: this game is also on TBS.
  21. Wow, when did the Brewers ever have such potential pitching depth in their system?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Yo, Inman, Dillard, not to mention that past prospects like Jones are now apparently back on track?
  22. Since the ball is likely worth millions, not just $1 million, I seriously doubt that any of us would throw it back! I just hope it never happens!!!
  23. My apologies to Buckytuba - it's WiscoTuba who is the Cubs fan!
  24. The BM board is a Badger board, not a Cubs board! Get your facts straght!
  25. Are you the same "Tuba" who seems to be a Cubs fan on the BM board? If so, are you flying with false colors here?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
