  1. IGTs have become unbearable recently, both for the constant references to CC's (mis)management, or the hounding of posters who DARE to venture a different take than those with the pitchfork and torches. Before anything happens, it's "what is CC thinking?". If it's a bad result, the told-you-so's come flying. If good, we win IN SPITE of CC. It's just gotten so old. Every manager does and says things some fans hate. Go on the Cubs boards when Maddon gets "creative" and it doesn't work. Not much love there - and he at least "won" them a WS! Long story short, he deserves less of the credit than the players when they win, and less of the blame than the players when they lose. He seems to foster a pretty good clubhouse from what I can tell - and again, I have as much insight as anyone else here about that. It's mostly lazy scapegoating to fill that need that it seems sports fans - humanity in general, really - needs, sadly...
  2. Or, I could just be as negative as you, and suck ALL the joy out of fandom. I choose not to... Called honesty bro. Fandom doesn't mean stick your head in the sand. I call it how it is. Nah, it's just way easier to be a pessimist. Enjoy...
  3. He will find a way. Or, I could just be as negative as you, and suck ALL the joy out of fandom. I choose not to...
  4. If we can extend the inning another 6 or 7 pitches, I think that might be all we see of Hicks this weekend, maybe.
  5. Not to mention, the Cubs picked up an ace - Darvish - and turns out, unlike toasters, aces don't come with guarantees!
  6. Time for Perez to not have posters on his back for a day or two!
  7. CC has mailed it in and thinks they can't come back so he is giving him extra time off probably...even though he hit two home runs yesterday. Or, you know, not...
  8. Throw two more up there, Baez will swing through one.
  9. In an alternate universe, Sedar doesn't send Schoop, the inning ends shortly after, and Brewerfan is apoplectic.
  10. You can literally see Rizzo's jersey move and change trajectory. I'M sure it was out. However, New York doesn't see it like all the others, apparently, given the obvious calls they've missed recently.
  11. Can you blame CC for not challenging? Even the uber pessimists this board has so many of have agreed that calls we should have had, we didn't get. We lose one yesterday that should have been called, and then later can't challenge a stonewaller. Snakebit.
  12. Umps have obviously been spoken to by Maddon yesterday. Lots of "make up" calls going on.
  13. Cubs just got what looks very much like a late inning pinch runner in Terrance Gore, from the Royals. He's 0-11 in the bigs, and since stealing first is tricky (!) looks like a one-trick pony pickup.
  14. Oh, I 100% agree - this is meant to be a fun game, but given his hatred by the Cubs fans, I'd like to see Braun rub it in a little more. That would be funny!
  15. Never mind Bote and his supposed showboating the other night, I want Braun to soft-shoe his way around the bases, while blowing kisses to the crowd, at Wrigley!
  16. C'mon, Braunie, do Braun Wrigley things Edit: Yeah, like that!
  17. Yeah, Craig needs to power up the DeLorean so he could see there would be one to challenge later...
