Looked out by plenty in live action. Seems like i'm constantly disappointed by Gomez' speed getting to first. He watches too much instead of just booking it. -

Houle asked about bat testing, figured it could use its own thread... The rec department's official "Bat Testing Calendar" shows the following: So, it sounds like they'll be at our field our first two Thursdays, although the second one is a little unclear. The rec department occasionally has other bat testing dates (they just had open dates yesterday and today -- oops) but I don't know of any upcoming. If someone really wanted to get a bat tested earlier than the 15th, we could probably contact the rec department to see about a special appointment?

Yeah, definitely some new names this year. BTW, I will be out for the June 5 game due to a trip to AZ for a wedding. Anyone else have any games they know they'll miss? -
Who's in for practice this Sunday, May 4th? I'm thinking late afternoon, like 4:00. Lafollette park in West Allis, which we've used before the past couple years. We'll need to have about 5 guys to make it worthwhile, hopefully more...! EDIT: Heard from Schubert that he's in for this, and same for Houle. So we should be at 3 already.

I hate Roenicke. Just keeps flushing our outs down the toilet with bunts and running. Can't freaking stand it. I literally watch games constantly nervous at how our outs will be squandered willy nilly. ARGHHH. Hate hate hate.

Keep in mind that two of the next four Sundays are Easter (4/20) and Mothers Day (5/11). Sunday the 27th I'll be returning from Eau Claire, could be tough to make a practice ... maybe if it was late like 5:00 or 6:00? Saturday would be totally out for me. Sunday the 4th looks wide open. Maybe Mother's Day weekend we shoot for Saturday instead?

Did he run through a stop sign? I was referring to Gomez rounding second in ridiculous fashion on the bunt. The gaffe that got the whole thing started.

Why can't our coaches get through to Gomez about his stupid base running? The immature, over-aggressive, excited puppy dog stuff. Running Ron probably loves it. I think it's embarrassing ... and leads to outs.

No rebroadcast of this? FSN WI tends to do that a lot, but looking at tonight's programming schedule -- even into the late night / morning -- appears to be no dice.

Standing O for Braun, Opening Day Drama

What percentage of the crowd has to be standing for it to qualify as a standing ovation? Being at the game, I thought he got a very good reception, but I don't think I would have called it a standing O. I felt it was something like 20% of the crowd standing and cheering enthusiastically, 30% sitting and cheering enthusiastically, 30% cheering casually, and 20% not cheering. Wish I could go back and pay closer attention. Being there in person, it didn't seem to be the same level of "standing o" the media made it out to be by calling it that and only using shots of the crowd in which many were standing. -
The replays at Miller Park were very very inconclusive. No where's near definitive enough to overturn. Hopefully what the umps saw in review (and on tv?) were more legit to lead to that ruling.
