when guys are going good they absolutely are seeing the ball better. They are picking up the spin of the ball earlier and can almost slow the ball down to put better swings on the ball. A lot of times when a guy is going bad, he's not picking up the spin at all and even slow fastballs seem to be going 100mph. I don't think you can really tell a guys mental state before something bad happens but I would be willing to bet Casey has no confidence right now and that is hurting him. -

Hart pretty much made up his mind that he was going to swing at that last pitch no matter where it was...what a terrible swing..terrible loss.

so much for that whole sucking on the road thing. Outside a few guys in the line up, the team really isn't that great. They might be in first place right now, but they won't be there at the end of the year if they don't make some changes.

I actually think it is just 4. I pretty sure they ruled an error on the throw home on that "squeeze." Either way that is 4 more RBI from Marcum than I expected. I'm pretty sure its an E but also a sac for Marcum and an RBI.... edit: and I'm wrong

there are times to be aggressive and there are times not to be. A guy on 3rd with 0 outs is not a good time to be aggressive with a safety squeeze or try to make it home on your own

The result doesn't excuse how bad of a decision it was. whether it was a safety squeeze of Casey went on his own, that was a bad baseball play.

There is no way you chance the first out at home. I don't see how you can consistently come up with excuses for poor play and bad baseball decisions and that was one heck of a catch by Hudson
