  1. FYI, video was shot on September 28 & 29, before playoffs began.
  2. ...win two of three games in St. Louis. In my opinion, it is as simple as that. Someone besides Yo needs to step up out our other starting pitchers or we have no chance. They have been brutal.
  3. I'm also going with Option #1. I just cannot stand the very thought of losing to the Cardinals to allow them to advance to the World Series. Plus, this may be the best shot of seeing a World Series game being played at Miller Park in my lifetime. P.S. I'm seven years old.
  4. Walk Pujols every time, regardless of the situation.
  5. Hypothetical question: If the baseball "gods" granted Brewer fans one of these options, which would you take: Option #1: Brewers get 80% chance of winning the NLCS vs. the Cardinals, but then if they advance they have a 20% chance of winning this year's World Series. Option #2: Brewers get 40% chance of winning NLCS vs. the Cardinals, but then if they advance they have a 60% chance of winning this year's World Series. Option #3: Cardinals win this year's World Series, but then Pujols signs 10-year contract with the Cubs and La Rusa gets "shingles" again and figures the "classy" thing to do would be to retire from baseball forever. Please choose your option and give your reasoning.
  6. And neither Greinke or Marcum pitched well in the NLDS. Bottom line, you go with your BEST..... it's the playoffs!
  7. "DANCE WITH WHO BRUNG YA!" Fans seems to be putting too much emphasis on the home/road split thingy. Teams should use their best players in the postseason. Marcum has been one of our best pitchers ALL season long. We gave up a future hall-of-famer to get him for this very reason. Marcum should get the ball for Game 2 of the NLCS.
  8. Check out our 2011 MLB Postseason Predictions: Video is through our facebook fan page.
  9. Take Two... Here is how I think manager Ron Roneicke will set the Playoff rotation: (#)=days rest NLDS Game 1- Saturday, October 1st- RHP Yovani Gallardo (7) Game 2- Sunday, October 2nd- RHP Zack Greinke (6) Game 3- Tuesday, October 4th- RHP Shaun Marcum (7) Game 4- Wednesday, October 5th (if ness)- LHP Randy Wolf (8) Game 5- Friday, October 7th (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) NLCS (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLDS- assuming 5 for now) Game 1- Sunday, October 9th- RHP Zack Greinke (6) Game 2- Monday, October 10th- RHP Shaun Marcum (5) Game 3- Wednesday, October 12th- RHP Randy Wolf (6) Game 4- Thursday, October 13th- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 5- Friday, October 14th (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 6- Sunday, October 16th- (if ness)- RHP Shaun Marcum (5) Game 7- Monday, October 17th- (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (3) World Series (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLCS- assuming 7 for now) Game 1- Wednesday, October 19th at Miller Park- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 2- Thursday, October 20th at Miller Park- LHP Randy Wolf (7) Game 3- Saturday, October 22nd at AL Park- RHP Shaun Marcum (5) Game 4- Sunday, October 23rd at AL Park- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 5- Monday, October 24th at AL Park (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 6- Wednesday, October 26th at Miller Park (if ness)- LHP Randy Wolf (5) Game 7- Thursday, October 27th at Miller Park (if ness)- RHP Shaun Marcum (4) or RHP Yovani Gallardo (3)
  10. Those would be some mis-guided priorites if it means the difference in starting at home vs. Braves or on road at Philies!
  11. First off- Congratulations to the 2011 NL Central Champion Milwaukee Brewers! I disagree with Wolf not being given a chance to be part of the playoff rotation. He has pitched just as well as the other 3 starters all year long, he's our only lefty, and he the only one of the 4 with playoff starting experience (besides one NLDS start for Yo in 2008). I think he has earned his opportunity. Here is how I think manager Ron Roneicke will set the Playoff rotation: (#)=days rest NLDS Game 1- Saturday, October 1st- RHP Zack Greinke (6) Game 2- Sunday, October 2nd- RHP Shaun Marcum (6) Game 3- Tuesday, October 4th- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 4- Wednesday, October 5th (if ness)- LHP Randy Wolf (8) Game 5- Friday, October 7th (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (5) NLCS (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLDS- assuming 5 for now) Game 1- Sunday, October 9th- RHP Shaun Marcum (6) Game 2- Monday, October 10th- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 3- Wednesday, October 12th- RHP Zack Greinke (4) Game 4- Thursday, October 13th- LHP Randy Wolf (7) Game 5- Friday, October 14th (if ness)- RHP Shaun Marcum (4) Game 6- Sunday, October 16th- (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 7- Monday, October 17th- (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (4) World Series (depending on how many games it takes us to win NLCS- assuming 7 for now) Game 1- Wednesday, October 19th at Miller Park- RHP Shaun Marcum (4) Game 2- Thursday, October 20th at Miller Park- LHP Randy Wolf (6) Game 3- Saturday, October 22nd at AL Park- RHP Yovani Gallardo (5) Game 4- Sunday, October 23rd at AL Park- RHP Zack Greinke (5) Game 5- Monday, October 24th at AL Park (if ness)- RHP Shaun Marcum (4) Game 6- Wednesday, October 26th at Miller Park (if ness)- RHP Yovani Gallrdo (3) Game 7- Thursday, October 27th at Miller Park (if ness)- RHP Zack Greinke (3) This all goes out the window if any series doesn't go the distance, but as you can see, having Wolf make just one start in each series allows all starters to pitch on plenty of rest until Games 6 and 7 of the World Series, when Yo and Zack would have to pitch on 3 days rest for the first time. Of course, if the Brewers where facing an elimination game (game 4 of NLDS for example), I would also prefer that Wolf would be skipped in favor of someone else on short rest. Typing Game 6 and 7 of World Series at Miller Park just gave me chills! Go Brewers!
  12. I suggest we all pitch in and hire local Private Dectective Mark Antoniak 414-234-9529
  13. FYI, Jerry Hairston Jr has gone hitless since September 3rd. It is now September 17th. Yet, somehow he is our savior/"hottest" hitter.
  14. I've been waiting years for Prince to use this as his walk up song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNdnaGbkAeQ Apparently, Prince's mother Stacey was a big fan of "The Artist", who brokethrough to stardom with Purple Rain in 1984, the year Mr. Fielder was born.
  15. Bud Norris is a right handed pitcher. Jerry Haristson is a right handed batter. Also, Jerry Hariston Jr. is a terrible hitter.
  16. After popping out in today's pinch hit appearance, Craig Counsell has now gone 0 for his last 45 at bats. His last hit was on June 10th vs. the Cards. He happened to go 3 for 3 in that game. After doing a little research at the local library, I found this little fact. The major league record for most consecutive at bats without a hit for a position player is 46 by Bill Bergen, as a member of the 1909 Brooklyn Dodgers. The record for a pitcher held by former Milwaukee Brave, Bob Buhl. His record is 88 consecutive AB without a hit. Here's to Craig getting a pinch hit walk-off hit vs. the Cardinals tomorrow night!
  17. What about putting together a package to trade for Ian Stewart of Colorado. He's 26, hits left-handed and needs a change of scenery. I would like the Brewers to take a chance on Ian as someone who could contribute (McGehee/Stewart platoon?) this year, with an eye on being our 3B of the future.
  18. Ian Stewart of the Rockies seems to be someone in need of a change of scenery. He still only 26 and hits lefthanded. Not so much just as a replacement for Casey this year, but looking like for Ian to turn it around and become our 3B of the future. What would it take to get him from the Rockies?
  19. Mike Aviles seems like a perfect trade candidate for the Brew Crew. What would it take to get him? EDIT: Changed title from all caps. -PF

  21. BREAKING NEWS EXCLUSIVE:It is being reported by Scott Bartell, that Bobby Valentine HAS been offered the job of managing the Milwaukee Brewers.
  22. Hart was a player that most on these forums didn't even want to start in RF to begin 2010 (most wanted Edmonds to be starter), and was in serious jeopardy in being non-tendered by the Brewers. Yet, now everyone is singing Melvin's praises for extending a player that is midway through a breakout season after 1 and 1/2 seasons of terrible baseball. If you ask me, this smells like the Bill Hall contract part deux. Now we have both corner OF spots (Braun, Hart) locked up for awhile, even though those spots are more easily filled on the cheap via free agency or through the Brewers farm system (Gamel, Lawrie, Cain, etc) than starting pitching. Meanwhile, we have not just questions marks but actual holes in the #2, #4, and #5 spots in our rotation going into 2011 with no help above single A on the farm and a GM with a terrible track record of signing free agent starters. (Suppan, Looper, Davis, Wolf, etc) Topple that with the fact that other major league teams are treating their major league ready starting pitching prospects like gold (Bumgarner, Hellickson, Minor, etc), and rightfully so, giving the Brewers little chance of landing a quality, cost-controlled young pitcher even in a Prince Fielder trade. Add it all up and I'm not very convinced that this team can become contenders again in the near future.
  23. I sure hope that the Brewers can get more than this for Corey Hart. Neither of these players are top prospects by any means. John Sickels had neither player ranked in the top 22 Red Sox prospects coming into the year. I'm still crossing my fingers that we can get some pitching from Atlanta (Randall Delgado, Aroldys Vizcaino, Brandon Beachy, etc.) Think getting either Mike Minor from the Braves or Wade Davis from the Rays is a pipedream. Getting Madison Bumgarner from the Giants for him is nothing more than a fantasy.
