  1. The latest episode of The Brew Crew Review features an interview with Callix Crabbe, as well as a 2007 Brewers Draft Recap. http://brewcrewreview.com/web/jpgs/ep%2043/callix_interview.jpg brewcrewreview.com/ Check it out!
  2. Good calls, Patrick. You also predicted Jarrod Parker would be gone before the Brewers pick. If he is not, do you know if the Brewers would have Parker higher on their draft board than Aumont? Which HS pitcher would you prefer? I guess I prefer Parker, although he is not as projectable b/c of his size (6'2, 175), I would prefer the more polished high school pitcher.
  3. Thanks for being on the show again this year Patrick. I'm a little let down, as it looks like Mike Moustakas won't last until the Brewers pick. With that said, what are the odds of the Brewers taking a chance at drafting and signing Matt Wieters C (Boras client), as it looks like he may fall to us?
  4. Check out the latest episode of The Brew Crew Review (31) on Wisconsin on Demand, Time Warner Channel 1111 under Sports/Brewers. It features Brewerfan.net's very own draft expert Patrick Ebert (aka "colbyjack) with a preview some of the player the Brewers may be looking to draft in the first round with the #7 pick on Thursday, June 7th. The draft's new rule changes are also discussed. The episode also features a recent interview with pitching prospect Tim Dillard, who may be working on a mysterious new pitch. http://brewcrewreview.com/web/jpgs/ep%2042/patrick.jpg www.brewcrewreview.com http://brewcrewreview.com/web/jpgs/ep%2042/dillard_bartell.jpg
  5. I took a look back at the players I would have selected at the time each pick came up for the Brewers on Draft day since 2000, if I were the scouting director at the time. I actually liked a lot of the same players as Colbyjack. 2000- Chase Utley (after Baldelli & Stodolka were already taken) 2001- Aaron Heilman (I was also high on Kotchman, but wanted a college pitcher) 2002- Prince Fielder (Favorite Jack Z pick, even at the time. I was also high on Kazmir, Hamels & Loewen) 2003- Ricke Weeks (Actually wanted Delmon Young over Weeks, but liked both players) 2004- Homer Bailey (Sowers was my second choice, didn't have Rogers in the top of the first round) 2005- Cameron Maybin (Was also high on Zimmerman & Clement) 2006- Kyle Drabek (Really, really wanted Travis Snider to fall to our pick. Also, liked Morrow & Scherzer as college pitchers) 2007- My Brewer draft board based on likely available 1. Matt Wieters C(likely will be gone) 2. Josh Vitters HS 3B (ditto) 3. Ross Detwiler LHP 4. Andrew Brackman RHP 5. Jason Heyward HS 1B/OF 6. Daniel Moskos LHP 7. Madison Bumgarner HS LHP 8. Mike Moustakas HS 3B 9. Michael Burgess HS OF 10. J.P. Arencibia C I would take the best player available that is not a high school pitcher if I were the scouting director this year.
  6. Another note about Brandon's list: He gives heavier consideration to players he feels will actually be "Future Brewers", i.e. they are more likely to make the majors with the club, even if it is in a lesser role. For example, he thinks Dennis Sarfate could have a role in our bullpen this year or next and he also thinks J.D. Closser could become Estrada's backup in 2008.
  7. Brandon is really high on "The Hurricane". He thinks that if he's given the opportunity, he could have a career path similar to Luis Castillo. Too bad it will not likely be as a Brewer.
  8. Check out the latest episode of The Brew Crew Review (29)on Time Warner Cable's Wisconsin on Demand Channel 1111 (Sports/Brewers)! It features an interview with Brewers prospect and future 3B Ryan Braun, who is currently tearing it up with the bat at AAA Nashville. 9. What can you guys tell me about this guy? Mike Goetz U Wisconsin Milwaukee CF L/R 5'11" 190 1984-07-22 I'm interested because he went to the same high school as me (Franklin) and also went to UW-Milwaukee, where he led the nation in batting average. Looks like he showed great plate disipline after being drafted. 29 walks vs. 17 SO in 180 abs for the Arizona Brewers in 06.
  10. Episode 23 of The Brew Crew Review is now available on Wisconsin On Demand Channel 1111 under Sports/Brewers. 11. The Brew Crew Review 17 (Wisconsin on Demand Channe1 1111) is now playing and features Brewerfan.net's own Patrick Ebert (colbyjack) along with Brew Crew Review Minor League Analyst Brandon Mueller, giving a 2006 Amateur Draft Preview, focusing on players who the Brewers might be interested in with their #16 overall selection in the first round of next Tuesday's draft. This episode also features an interview with Nasvhille Sound, and Brewers 2003- 2nd round pick, Tony Gwynn Jr. If you don't have Time Warner Digital Cable, you can download clips from the episode at www.brewcrewreview.com Go Brewers!
  12. High School SP Mark Rogers from Maine it is.
  13. I agree with Colby on Weeks. I'm not a scout, but from what I saw last Saturday, I'd say that the Weeks is very far from being a major league player. He did seem very raw. Out of about 50 pitches, he only hit one over the fence. He did hit the ball to all fields, very well, however. I honestly think that his bat speed is a little overrated. I did want this kid to be a Brewer, more than I wanted Delmon Young. I'm excited and think that he will be a great player at the major league level, someday. However, I believe he should start at Beloit and spend a full year at that level.
  14. I'm not sure who runs this site or if it can load video clips, but if anyone is interested I have behind the scenes video footage of Rickie Weeks Miller Park BP from last Saturday. I work at Miller Park and got to shoot about a half hour of him taking BP, fielding grounders at 2B and SS, and posing for pictures. My email is- muellercraig@hotmail.com
  15. I like this lineup instead: 1. Krynzel CF 2. Weeks 2B 3. Fielder 1B 4. Sexson LF 5. Hart 3B 6. Nelson RF? 7. Johnson C 8. Hardy SS Rotation: Jones Sheets Parra Hendrickson Wilhemsen (or a decent young starter for Jenkins) CL Diggins Go Brewers!
