  1. I thought that Houston was a possibility...the largest US market without the NHL. I've not seen Austin in a lot of reports. Is it because it's growing rapidly? As much as I'd like to see a hometown team, we have as much of a chance as Quebec City which, despite what the traditionalists and Canadians want, will be ignored by Bettman. If Quebec somehow gets a team back, they will be the second smallest metro area with a team in the four major North American sports...only larger than Green Bay!
  2. Well, the Avalanche could have at least waited until they were off the ice to dent the Stanley Cup. ?
  3. Well, Colorado is living up to its nickname so far… ?
  4. The Flames vs. Oilers series certainly has started out as a barnburner last night. A 9-6 victory by Calgary with quite a bit of extra-curricular stuff. This looks like must-see TV.
  5. Sorry, eh? ?
  6. I know that there are game 6s tonight, but looking ahead, three game 7s are coming up tomorrow. In my mind, the most compelling matchup is the Bolts vs. the Leafs. Will the dream end for a three-peat for TB, or will the misery of not winning a playoff series since 2004 (and the Cup since 1967) continue for TOR? I'm not a fan of either team, so I say, "Get the popcorn ready!" ?
  7. Connor Ingram had a valiant effort in goal for the Predators. The Avalanche team is just too much of a juggernaut. At least he returns to the Admirals. The Moose won game 3 in Winnipeg, so the Admirals lead in the series is now 2-1.
  8. That is why the Brewers almost never started the season at home when they played at County Stadium. The original home opener for us this year would have been March 31. The game would have gone on with the roof, but we would have tailgated under the snow that day.
  9. The last 8 seed to make it to the finals was the Edmonton Oilers in 2006. The teams they had to beat were the Wings (bad memories for me), the Sharks, and the Ducks. The Carolina Hurricanes ended up beating them for the Cup. Don't know if it has been done before that, at least since the current playoff format has been in place since 1994. The North Stars had the worst regular season record of playoff teams in 1991 and made the finals, but that was under the Campbell / Wales divisional playoff format.
  10. Down go the Pens! Isn't that amazing with the Habs as an 8 seed knocking down both the Caps and the Pens, both going the full 7 games? It also shows that not only is winning the Stanley Cup tough, repeating as champs is even tougher.
  11. If you need tickets to Friday's or Saturday's Brewers vs. Cubs game at Miller Park, I have two (2) extra tickets available for each game in the Terrace Reserved level (Section 424, Row 9, Seats 7-8). I am offering them for $10 each ticket ($20 for each pair or $40 for all the tickets). Let me know if interested. I am located in New Berlin (home and work).
  12. Here's the video from the Dan Boyle "own goal" from last night.
  13. My aunt and uncle need two tickets for the Saturday, August 15 game against the Houston Astros. They would prefer that the tickets would be together in the terrace reserved (400s) level as close to home plate as possible, but as long as the seats are together, they will consider other offers. Thanks in advance, Marc
  14. I just sold the Saturday tickets. I still have the two tickets for Friday against the White Sox. -Marc
  15. I have two tickets each in the terrace reserved area for both Friday (6/12) and Saturday (6/13) vs. the White Sox. The Friday game is at 7:05 pm, and the Saturday game is at 3:05 pm. Both sets of tickets are in this location: Section 424, Row 9, Seats 7 and 8 The price is $14 per ticket (or $28 per pair per game). I am located in New Berlin (both home and work). Let me know.
  16. I have two tickets available in the Terrace Reserved section for Friday, May 1 vs. the Diamondbacks at 7:05 pm. The seats are located in Section 424, Row 9, Seats 7 and 8. Face value is $14 each but I will offer the two tickets for $18 ($9 per ticket). I am located in New Berlin (home and work). Let me know. Thanks, Marc
  17. I sent you a PM. I still have my two tickets at this time. Let me know, Marc
  18. The tickets are in Section 424, Row 9, Seats 7 and 8. The price (face value) is $14 each, $28 for both. I live and work (own a business) in New Berlin. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Marc Tickets have been sold.
  19. Originally, I was not going to make it tonight, but my initial plans just fell through, so it looks like I'll be there tonight! I'm a long-time lurker who rarely posts, but I might have met some of you when we had the Buckethead Brigade a while back. I'll wear my "stars and stripes logo" Brewer cap and a Buckethead Brigade long-sleeve t-shirt. Looking forward to meeting you all! Marc http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. Hi all, First time poster, long time reader... Turnbow got a hold because he left the game when the Crew were still leading 7-5. Shouse gets the blown save because he allowed the tying runs (inherited runners to score) while he was in the game, even though all the ER's get credited to Turnbow. That's my understanding of the "blown save" stat.
