  1. Along with Moooooose? Moooooooose is much more likely. Sc"OOOOOHHHHHHH"pe doesn't have the same ring to it.
  2. Care to wager? Yes Shaw will still be playing plenty of 2B.
  3. It might. Now can you get those three players without giving up Huira, Burnes, Woodruff or Peralta? I'm not sure you can and my preference would be to keep those guys unless it moves Milwaukee to the favorites in the NL. I want the Brewers to push for the playoffs and add another guy or two, but I don't think this is the year to sell off the farm. Any team that makes the playoffs has a shot to win it all, because baseball.
  4. Thanks. I was unaware. The point is do you think there are 1 or 2 players out there that turn the Brewers from playoff contenders into WS contenders. If there are, I am much more in the let's go for it camp. My opinion is that now that Machado is gone (and he was borderline), there aren't any Verlander / Sabathia type moves available to make that jump. Given that is the case, they should conserve their resources until next season when they may be in a better position to make a deep post season run.
  5. Is the goal to make the playoffs or win a World Series?
  6. I blame them for not having this cleaned up before it became a story. I can't believe they don't (or didn't because I'm sure they do now) have someone in their marketing / PR department who's job it was to review social media for all the players in their organization.
  7. Maybe. Quintana needs to get back to how he was pitching the previous two years for it to hurt the Brewers too badly.
  8. That's how you get controllable ML ready pitching.
  9. Giving up that haul of prospects makes sense for Chicago and wouldn't have made sense for Milwaukee. Simple as that. Brewers now just need to hope Quintana stays as mediocre as he has been all year.
  10. I think they are my new favorite brewery in town. That Happy Place, Happy Happy, and the new double IPA they have is absolutely incredible. And yeah, they are super nice guys. A few weekends ago they let us stay after close for a little bit, and the head guy broke out a 22oz Barleywine from 2012, that was made at the brewery he worked at previously. I'm yet to be disappointed by their beers. Definitely check em out, and its a few blocks east from the St Paul Sobelman's If you haven't tried Urban Harvest, I highly recommend them. They usually have 8-10 beers on tap and I have loved each one, even the styles I normally don't like.
  11. 5 Year Averages IP - 62.7 - $274,322 Per IP Pitches Per Year - 1070 - $16,075 Per Pitch If only I could plan my career over again...
  12. Seems awfully early to writing off some these guys. Devin Williams was drafted out of HS and seems to be performing pretty well so far.
  13. I remember Gomez getting slammed last year for an interview which seemed to get lost in translation.
  14. I heard DS on ESPN Radio today say that they brought Arcia up to get him acclimated to Major League pitching and the Major League lifestyle/schedule. I can get behind that.
  15. Villar is under team control through 2020. I'm not sure I see them trading him in the off season.
  16. It's been 2 games guys.
  17. Would love to see him back in 3 years when Milwaukee is starting their WS run. Go Rangers!!!
  18. Someone above Stearns.....That makes sense. Go for the big guns, stop with the cute diamond in the rough types. We now have 3 guys who are top 65 guys in one afternoon. Give the Brewers FO a team attaboy. Only person that could be is Mark A. In baseball sense no one is above David. Well, he didn't say higher up than Stearns, he just said higher up.
  19. Fair point TheCrew. Would it be ideal that he hits for average as well as power? Absolutely. But I think he can still be solid contributor at the major league level if he hits .245-.260 with a strong walk rate and hits for power.
  20. Phillips power surge was in a pretty hitter friendly league, so there is some concern. But he's got 13 doubles and 7 triples at AA (on less than 200 ABs) - so the power may very well be lurking just below the surface. An .843 OPS at AA is still pretty impressive. I'm not really going to worry at this point because the guy is still hitting well, but I certainly want to see a few more dingers. As long as he keeps getting extra base hits, I'm not concerned about the HR power at all. I see him as a top of the lineup guy down the road. Sure, HR's are always nice, but if he is hitting for average and getting a good amount of 2Bs and 3Bs with some HRs sprinkled in, he will be great.
  21. I understand the concern for Coulter, but I am not down on him yet. Here is where he stacks up in the league. (Has played 119) 2B - 4th (28) HR - T-2nd (12) RBI - 10th (54) Total Bases - 2nd (179) BB - 11th (40) Ks - 27th (81) OPS - 12th (.730) Here are the same categories from the Midwest League the year before and where he ranked. (Played 126 Games) 2B - 14th (28) HR - T-1st (22) RBI - 2nd (89) Total Bases - 5th (223) BB - 3rd (73) Ks - T-33rd (103) OPS - 1st (.930) To me, it doesn't look like he has had a crazy drop off in terms of how he ranks with the rest of the league he plays in.
