  1. I worked in restaurants and retail for 10 years. I was accustomed to working 50+ hours a week without breaks while trying to motivate and supervise losers who can hardly read. Not to mention attempting to satisfy my own bosses and their unrealistic goals. I now have a job with normal hours, scheduled 30-minute lunch breaks everyday and two 15 minute paid breaks. Plus, when works over, it's over and I don't have to worry about it until tomorrow. It doesn't take a lot to please me...
  2. This happened to our group at the game that Prince got the standing ovation after his 0-8 start to that point. We were drunk, many of us flashed the shocker. I'm not proud, I wish I had thought of something cleaver...
  3. What if the parents drop the kid off at school, watch the kid walk into school, only to have the kid ditch school later on while the parent is at work? My guess is if the City were to implement this tactic and arrest and jail the parents that we'd be looking at a lot of orphaned kids in the city of Milwaukee. I may have been known to do this back in my high school days-and as soon as my parents found out I skipped school I was in deep (poo) and didn't do it again. The point is that there is not enough parental involvement in man of these families. While I agree that this tactic probably wouldn't work on all the kids, it would at least wake up some of the parents to get involved in the lives of their children and prevent them from going down thug-road. Something needs to be done and I don't have the answer.
  4. I can do Wednesday or Friday.
  5. You hit just about everything. The tax climate in this city is awful and the dysfunction of the inner city is beyond repair at this point. MPS can't be repaired until the dysfunctional families and values in the inner city are addressed. I live in an OK part of Milwaukee, but I fear 5 or 10 years down the road this part of the city won't be OK anymore will probably end up selling my house and moving to the 'burbs.
  6. I'm pretty sure that's my dad 40 years ago...
  7. It might be a good idea to post a mirror of this in the Off-Topic forum so more people are aware of this. Just a thought...
  8. I still laugh at it. Once it stops being funny to me I'll change it....
  9. It wouldn't be charging less people it would simply move these "non-violent" cases to the juvenile system. That is usually paid for by the county rather than the state and involves all sorts of counselling and other services for these offenders. So here in Milwaukee this is going to cost the county a lot of money. I read projections of $24 million a year over the money that would be raised by this tax.
  10. I've already signed long-term deals with Tuesday and Thursday nights teams, but I'm in for a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday league. I'll play whatever is needed. I'm best suited as a 1B or corner outfield spot...
  11. That's not what I'm saying. They're main streets in that area, but they are still physically small compared to Oklahoma Ave for example. With the volume of traffic on those streets there should be no parking or 15 minute parking during the winter months. The first area that comes to mind for me is the Oakland and Locust neighborhood. Where is the snow supposed to go?
  12. The problem with the area you describe is the fact that there are cars parked on those tiny streets and it makes it even harder for the plows to do their jobs.
  13. Did you have an unfortunate encounter with Bo Ryan in the women's locker room?
  14. I'm tired as hell. I've been drunk three straight nights and would like to sleep, but my addiction to Brewerfan.net will not allow me to go to sleep until I check the Off-Topic and Major League threads. I hope my roommate and this crazy girl that has been staying here the past few nights don't wake me up early again. I also like whiskey sour...........................................
  15. I'm that guy. I usually set my alarm to an ambisious time to wake up, and usually get up just in time to beat my roomate into the shower...
  16. Sorry. The only part I blow on the street is the very edge of my driveway. There really is no better way to do it on a city lot like mine (unless I use a shovel, and who does that?). I actually do end up blowing it back on my sidewalk almost immediately and I make sure that I'm not blowing it into traffic lanes, just the shoulder...
  17. And that person will probably never forget how to spell "bananas" There is now no way to forget...
  18. Ouch. I think you win. There's always someone worse off than you though. Just think, there's probably someone out there who has to listen to "Hollaback Girl" all day...
  19. The one that really "grinds my gears" is: siiiiiimply haaaaaaving a wonderful christmas tiiiiiime. It always seems to be on in whatever store is aggravating me. Worst-Christmas-song-ever!
  20. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gifFixing a toilet that I didn't clog while the jerk who did it plays Halo and wonders why I'm in a pissy mood.
  21. That I spend too much time in the "What's Bugging You?" thread.
  22. What's bugging me tonight is that I can't sleep because my roomate and his nasaly Dr. Frink voice are up still playing Halo and screaming at the game. Wait, now he's in his room talking loudly on the phone. Shut the hell up!!! Now I can't sleep 'cause I'm pissed off!!
