I disagree. The runner and the ball were on an almost identical path, the catcher is in the oath because he is fielding the ball. I went back and watched it. Cervelli was already straddling the line when the LF let it go.

If that isn't blocking the runner's path without possession of the ball, I don't know what is.

I have no idea what this means. It's like you are setting yourself up to be disappointed simply for the sake of being disappointed. That's probably accurate. I just feel like I've read the past few days that the Cubs are facing DeGrom tonight. Capable I suppose, but just as likely to have a stinker on the road as his final start of the year.
