    Actually Gwynn came in for Gross. I'd guess they figure Gwynn can get to some balls Gross can't, and that could make the difference between a gapper and a single.

    If we're talking about winning the game, I'm not sure why Jenkins and Gross were left to face a LHP while The Head was on the bench. Hopefully Coco can get out of this little mess.

    ROFL @ the Yost hate level. I am one of the last people to claim we got Yosted, but yes, tonight, we were Yosted. Aquino is the last guy who should be touching the baseball in a tie game in the 9th inning at home. I'd rather see Elmer Desse--okay, that's not true, but you get the point.

    It seemed like we were a lot worse in the retros than 6-8. I think it is because almost every time we'd lose in them, we got pounded. lol This actually lends credence to the theory that people have selective memory and only remember what they want to, lol.

    I am sure Ned factored in the fact we have Sheets on the mound tomorrow which means the game will be out of reach by the 5th anyway because he's a loser, unlike Jeff Suppan.

    Indeed. I honestly hadn't even noticed he hadn't been getting hits, since he'd been hitting the ball hard. The only reason I'd brought that up was the person who mentioned J.J.'s average had been dropping... so I figured I'd look up how he'd been doing statistically.

    I went to look up how to say "the head is hot against left handed pitching" in Spanish: ¡La cabeza es caliente contra el cabeceo zurdo! hahaha. I have so many more productive things I should be doing right now, I just don't feel like it. lol

    Good point. In previous years we'd be painstakingly counting the opposing pitcher's pitches hoping by the 7th he'd be done, lol.
