You guys who kill Rickie and Counsell should realize that Bill Hall is the guy not getting the job done now. Besides a 5 game hot streak, he has been far below average both defensively and offensively. I say drop him in the order for Menchkins for awhile.
For the guys that said that Rickie needed to sit a day...I think you should have focused on your guy Bill Hall. I don't think Bill needs to sit, but I believe they should drop him to five and hit Estrada sixth. Move up Menchkins to cleanup.
Rickie and Co. are all fine and will be back. Let's just hope Sheets is OK. Groin injuries can be very touchy. They should proceed with caution. Maybe have Yovani get a start or two. I am not as concerned because of our depth as long as the injury is short-lived. We will see. It is far too early to speculate an injury we did not see.
A C+ grade is above average. There is nothing wrong with that. I would just rate him in the middle defensively amongst MLB shortstops. Somewhere just above Jack Wilson and behind Alex gonzales.
6-2. I think we still have a chance, but we cannot allow any more runs. This team has shown plenty of grit and we have hit the ball hard all game. Remember, the Cubs pen besides Wuertz, Cotts, and Dempster have been beyond bad.
This inning should have been over ten minutes ago. JJ fields that ball and we turn two. What a shame. With all the complaints about Rickie and Prince, JJ and Graffy have been the worst fielders this season. If Graffy isn't missing pops, JJ is miscommunicating with Jenkins. I think most on this site overrate JJs defense. He is a C+ SS.
Rickie needs no day off. He has had a couple off days with the bat...no worries. Our offense is much more dangerous with him in there. He looks better than Bill Hall this series with the stick. So if you want to sit Rickie, why dont we sit hall too.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
I hope that bases loaded situation doesn't come back to bite us. Ump better call the same corner for us. The pitches to Hall and Weeks were a mile outside. Throw strikes TBow!
I am so proud. I live in Chitown and was at the game and it was a classic. I even almost gave up but I love the effort. The things Yost did were right and it makes up for the loss on Friday. I am not going to drink the Kool-Aid, but it was so fun to stick it in the Cubbies faces tonight after the crap I put up with early in the game. AWESOME!!!
You know what I think... I like to see a little spunk from our fans and friends on this site during a tense situation. It shows good passion. I didn't take any of the comments in a negative way. In a game like this, there is plenty of intensity going on. Let's move on and keep it as clean as possible understanding the fact sometimes things get a "little" frenzied. I do understand that there is a line and that was a borderline ball like that last pitch to Lee today.
No blame on Yost yet. I think he did the right thing. I did not like the curve ball on 3-2 to Loretta though. Estrada needs to talk Bush out of that. Another game comes to the end...
I think the Aquino project in key situations is over. At least this is happening early in the year instead of later. There are always a couple roster changes within the organization throughout the year because someone is struggling. Yost made a huge mistake. Maybe he will learn from it. If not, we may need to make a Harvey Kuehn-Buck Rodgers move if he continues to do this.
