  1. Yeah, I don't know what's funnier -- Barmes just completely whiffing on the ball altogether, or Coshun needing about 90 seconds to realize that two runs came across to tie the game.
  2. Most impressive outing for Braddock I can remember since that one outing of his in St. Louis where got through Pujols and Holliday. Absolutely filthy today.
  3. Initially thought Weeks was clearly safe, but that back angle replay did show Weeks' jersey move a bit with Olivo's swipe. Could just be movement from Weeks sliding, but the ump was in a horrible position to make that call. From his perspective, Weeks should've been called safe.
  4. Yeesh, if you want an example of how straight Parra's fastball is, the replay of that RBI double is probably a good place to start. I've been a big supporter of Manny longer than most, and while he's always seemed to have bad luck when it comes to the defense behind him, this mess is his own. Hopefully he can get out of it tied.
  5. Just a reminder that very short/one-line posts may be better suited for the chat room. Play by play should generally be avoided, as noted in the IGT FAQ.
  6. Considering the Brewers stuggled to put something together against Barry Enright the other night, I have no doubt that they'll rough up Jimenez today.
  7. Wow, thanks for that brain fart, Tulo. That's just too much of a risk to take in the bottom of the 9th when you're the winning run.
  8. Nice to see the triple there by Dickerson. He's only got a few more days to make an impression with Macha before he inevitably gets Gerut'd and only sees 5 AB's a week.
  9. Before this inning, Narveson had faced just one more than the minimum. He started very sharp.
  10. I continue to be amazed at how well the Brewers pitchers are hitting as a whole this year. Nice piece of hitting by Narv Dog there to help his own cause. Makes me wonder if the pitchers still compete every year to see who gets the most base hits, or if that died out when Sheets left.
  11. Cain's started every single game since coming back up. He was due for an off day. Edit: Nevermind, he's appeared in every game, starting 7 of 8. Still a bit of a stretch to think Macha's thinking of ways to keep him out.
  12. I don't know of any players that are currently on Twitter. Seth McClung was using it last year, ripped Ken Macha a lot, and took it down this spring when he was trying to catch on with another club. Lorenzo Cain and Eric Arnett had feeds last year, but Arnett's just disappeared and Cain has had like two tweets and hasn't had any since March. I actually wonder if it's organization policy to not tweet, at least during the season. It wouldn't surprise me, especially after what happened with McClung last year.
  13. I had thought the same thing regarding Randolph (that he was brought in as a virtual insurance policy in case they had to fire Macha mid-season), but with all of Melvin's comments recently about not liking the idea of interim managers, I'm starting to think differently. While I think Randolph was run out of town pretty quickly in New York and will get another chance to manage somewhere, I'm not convinced he's in the Brewers' plans. If Macha is allowed to walk in the offseason, I imagine they'll give him an interview or two, but I do think Melvin would be more inclined to reach outside of the organization again.
  14. Per a THweet: It did look like Hawkins' velocity still wasn't there upon his return from the DL. Should be interesting to see what McClendon can do. 2.44 ERA in 55.1 IP in Nashville so far this year.
  15. The rumor was that Melvin wanted Hudson + Beckham or Viciedo. Chicago didn't want to give up that much. It wasn't that Melvin didn't like Hudson.
  16. Is there any doubt Bush was getting pretty lucky earlier this year? I mean, I knew his HR/FB rate was going to regress eventually, but this was pretty incredible.
  17. Macha told McCalvy last night he knows what Cain can do in CF, but he's just trying to get a read on how Dickerson does there. I wouldn't think too much about it for now, but that's just me.
  18. Lorenzo Cain is showing what better defense could possibly do for Manny Parra in the future. A little BABIP regression would be nice, and plays like that help, no (even though it was a hit before he threw him out)? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  19. Enright was a 2nd round pick by Arizona in the 2007 draft. His minor league numbers are here. Seems to have pretty solid control with a BB/9 of 1.9 and a K/9 of 7.3 during his minor league career. His career H/9 is 9.3, although he did cut it down to 7.8 in AA this year.
  20. There's really no need for one line posts, double posting, and talking down to other members. I'll close this to let everyone cool off and review the "what kind of discussion is not allowed?" section of the Fan Forum Etiquette.
  21. There's no chance the first two were intentional, so I can't fault Bucknor for thinking that the HBP to Fielder was a mistake, too. Ian Kennedy just isn't very good.
  22. I feel like we need a platoon name for Adam McCalvy and Jordan Schelling. I like McSchelling, but we can work on that. Apparently Randy Wolf was preparing to play in the outfield if need be. Fun times.
  23. Braun apparently hurt his wrist in a collision with Brett Wallace beating out that infield single yesterday. Jordan Schelling with the photo evidence: http://twitpic.com/2d88u4 http://twitpic.com/2d89hh He apparently needed x-rays on his wrist. Ugh..right when he was getting hot.
  24. According to a McCalvy tweet, Dickerson missed his flight to Milwaukee, and now won't be arriving until after the game starts. We could be in for a Kevin Mench-style entrance!
