Dear Brian Sabean, Have fun with Jose Bautista. Signed, Doug Melvin. With Tampa Bay and Atlanta possibly in the picture now, I don't really have any interest in what the Giants have to offer. It doesn't make sense for them to deal either pitcher if they're getting Corey Hart to help them make a push in the NL West, because they don't have any good replacements for them at the moment. The Rays (and to a lesser extent the Braves) have a surplus they can deal from, and they wouldn't miss a beat. I'm not sure why the Brewers would be interested in Moore over Davis, either. I guess you could say service time, but Davis is still considered a rookie this season despite coming up for a bit last year -- that's still 5.5 years of control. I would hope they're not scared off by his early big league results -- yeah, he's had a rough first 100 innings or so in the big leagues, but Clay Buchholz and Phil Hughes both struggled mightily in their first 100 or so innings in the AL East, too, and look at where they are now.
