  1. Micah Hoffpauir is all that is man. Hilarious that they took Pedro out after Hoffpauir hit him well in the first two ABs, then Rincon gives up the 3-run bomb on the first pitch. Edit: So you know the reaction fans at Miller Park would always give Ned Yost when he would walk out to pull Gagne after he gave up a 3-run homer? Multiply that a few times and that's the reaction Jerry Manuel's getting right now as he walks out to pull Rincon. The guy's gone from being a hero to goat in like a month.
  2. Nothing like demoralizing the fans of the home team before they even get to hit in the first inning. Mets' announcers: "All hands on deck..."
  3. Micah freaking Hoffpauir homers. Gotta love 28-year old rookies. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edmonds follows it up with a walk and Fontenot with a long single to put runners on the corners. It's just sad watching Pedro pitch lately.
  4. And really, it's the Cubs. They could probably field the Daytona Cubs right now and still win.
  5. Well, at least the Cubs were nice enough to help us tie the wildcard race. Looks like the Brewers will have to do it themselves from here on out, and really, it's only fitting after the way they played a few weeks ago.
  6. Yep, 30% chance of rain until about 10 PM ET, when it jumps to 60%. Considering the game starts at 7 PM ET, you'd think they'd at least be able to get 5 innings in, especially with Harden on the mound.
  7. Interesting column calling out the Mets fans for booing their team when they need support the most. Most of the words in the first paragraph or two could probably be used to describe the Brewers, too: http://www.newsday.com/sp...187sep25,0,3755241.column The comments section is pretty much blasting the columnist and David Wright for a couple of quotes he gave saying that New York is a "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately" town and that everyone just has to stay positive in times like these. They're trying to compare him to Alex Rodriguez while using that as an insult, which I don't quite understand.
  8. Gallardo has no wins! Why are we starting him in the middle of a wildcard chase?! Please stay healthy, and please get a win tonight Brewers.
  9. The crappy scheduling is a big reason why a lot of Cub fans on Northside Baseball are pulling for the Brewers to make the playoffs. They want to be able to see their team actually play in the playoffs. A bunch of afternoon games would definitely suck, but I guess I should hold onto those spare absences I have in all my classes for that week. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Brewers-esque defeat for the Mets. 10 LOB, blown lead in the middle innings only to tie it late, then lose it in extras. Could this start a free-fall that includes a series loss to the Nats?
  11. Wow, it sounds like the Mets announcers just watched someone die. Speaking in woeful tones, lamenting about dreams getting crushed, talking about how it seems to be slipping away once again. You don't get that kind of good stuff on ESPN.
  12. Derrek Lee! Thank you, Mets bullpen!
  13. I really don't see where all the negative posts are. Compared to about a week ago, this thread is pretty much all sunshine and rainbows. I don't think it's negative to think that the Mets need to lose -- even if the Brewers win out, they'll need the Mets to lose at least twice to win the wildcard and once to force Game 163. What the Mets and Phillies are doing right now isn't irrelevant.
  14. STRIKE OUT! HOLY CRAP THE METS SUCK!
  15. Leadoff triple for the Mets. Not gaining ground tonight, I guess.
  16. Bob Howry is Chicagoan for "Derrick Turnbow".
  17. I think it's hilarious. Now if he blows the lead after this, then I won't think it's so funny. But right now, it's pretty funny.
  18. Luis Ay-ay-ay-ay-ayala and his 5.47 ERA in to pitch the 9th for the Mets. Too bad the Cubs have the bottom of their order up.
  19. SCREW YOU JEFF SAMARDZIJA. Bases loaded walk ties the game. Here's to hoping the Cubs have another comeback left in them.
  20. IF YOU'RE NOT THE PITCHER, SAC BUNTS ARE STUPID. If Bill Hall can't even make contact against a righty, what makes Dale think that he can lay down a sac bunt?
  21. Wow, he got out of it without any runs. Really stinks he had to throw 28 pitches that inning, though...the Brewers can't really afford another short outing from a starting pitcher, but they can't have Sabathia throw 120 pitches tonight if they expect him to go on 3 days' rest again.
  22. Huh. So this is why it's a bad idea to start Sabathia on 3 days' rest in consecutive starts. I guess Dale learns something new every day. Hopefully the Brewers can get out of this without too much damage, and they think twice about pitching him on 3 days' rest again this year.
