  1. Oh boy, way to walk the pitcher. Not a good indicator of Aquino's abilities.
  2. I don't know if this has been brought up in this thread, but the LA Times' (Bill Plaschke) take on this game was the bad play of Pierre and Gonzalez. Plaschke mentions the quirkiness of Miller Park and Jeff Kent evidentally called MP "a bad investment of a ballpark." Maybe this is the Dodgers' take on the game, but Plaschke says that Ben Sheets wasn't the story of the game. Wow. www.latimes.com/sports/la...ome-sports
  3. I'm so excited for tomorrow; can't wait to settle in my seat and reacquainted with the game after a long winter. I think I need to pinch myself. This year...my team is favored to win the division...to go to the playoffs...could be a championship contender. Let's get off to a great start tomorrow.
  4. Vinny!!! It looks like we may have two rookie sensations on this team! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  5. Has anybody seen the Zac Braff movie Last Kiss lately? I had high hopes because I love Garden State, but this movie was downright sad and depressing. Nevertheless, I found it to be compelling because it addresses the troubles and questions of truly growing up, but it's a downer. Btw, it takes place in Madison and features UW-Madison, if you wanted to know.
  6. When people feel the need to stand during sporting events. I don't mean just when an exciting play happens, but when they stand for the entire contest. I kind of disagree about that one. There's something about having the entire crowd on its feet that brings out an incredible energy and exciting atmosphere, kind of like the Cardinals-Mets Game 7.
  7. I think that's the first time the NL has won a World Series game since October 25, 2003 (Marlins 2, Yankees 0, Game 6). Congrats NL, we're off the schnide in this World Series.
  8. Uffda. If St. Louis wins this game, they have the distinct edge in the Series. Verlander/Reyes shouldn't be even close, and it shouldn't not be close in this manner. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm thinking, too. If the Cards hold on to this one, we should have a nice, long, series on our hands because the pitching matchup and the score aren't really matching up right now. Maybe I'm in the minority of fans on here cheering for St. Louis. But, I'd be cool with the Tigers winning it, too. At least two good baseball towns are well-represented this year, and not a team like the Marlins (yuck). A year from tonight, I expect to be in the cozy confines of Miller Park watching a WS game http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  9. sports.espn.go.com/mlb/pl...id=2610409 Funny, so much for the "experts". Only one of them picked one of these teams to escape the first round (Rojas, Cards).
  10. Please, somebody just end this series. This has been the most unexciting, uninspiring playoff series I've seen in ages. Agreed. Hopefully, we'll see an exciting, inspiring Game Seven because there's been barely any drama this postseason.
  11. The Tigers are going to absolutely crush whoever wins this series. I'm curious to see how they match up with the Mets. We already saw the Cards-Tigers matchup, which was pretty ugly.
  12. Hey everyone. If you haven't heard, Monday's Game 5 has been PPD due to rain and will be made up Tuesday night at 7:15 pm.
  13. Yay, we're well on our way to another Yankee-less World Series. *knocks on wood*
  14. The "musical" introduction for Sunday Night Football on NBC: Pink. This introduction song is absolutely horrible on the ears, but did anybody tell NBC that Pink really isn't that "hip" anymore? It's awful, awful, awful. NBC is trying to become too much like ABC's Monday Night Football with the "new" horse trailor award (rock star of the week) and calling the NBC studios "30 Rock", when the matchups are good enough to just forget the bells and whistles. But most of all, I can't stand that Pink song on SNF.
  15. Are they going to open that upper deck if the A's make it to the World Series? Hmm, that'd be a shame if they didn't
  16. The Badgers are not major in your opinion? Badger basketball and football yes, hockey no. I was at the Badger men's hockey title game, and that was great, but I don't consider it "major". I think the basketball team has a real chance to challenge for the national title, but I'll believe it when I see it.
  17. Did anybody else's gamecast for STL-SD go nuts (on Yahoo)? In the 7th, it says the game is tied at 1-1 and the Cards have 22 hits...I hate this thing, it's always slowing down/stopping or the numbers are completely wrong. grr
  18. The Cards seem to have a pretty good hold on Game One- they're up 5-0 in the 6th. Unfortunately, I think this will have a good impact on the rest of the series. Pujols won a good battle with Peavy to hit a two-run homer, and it seemed to turn the momentum. The Cardinals look good, but it's still only the first game. Go Pads!!!!
  19. The fact that there is not one major sports team in this state that will challenge for a championship anytime soon.
  20. I've always been critical of Geoff Jenkins, but he looked like he was on the verge of tears during that interview. Best of luck to Geoff in the future.
  21. Is anyone else really depressed that Brewers Baseball is a few outs away from being done for another 6 months? The season hasn't been the greatest, but I will miss these guys, especially Ueck and Powell. I was more "depressed" after I attended my final game of the year. At this point, I'm just happy to get this season in the rear view mirror, and hope for a playoff team next year. Let's just get it over with.
  22. So far, so good. Hopefully this offense. carries over to April 2nd. 4-0 baby!!!
  23. I'm beginning to wonder if last year's team in this year's National League would have the opportunity to clinch the NL Central today. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif That being said, let's play spoiler today, Crew. And Go Astros!
  24. Rain Delay in Florida!! Brewers, come on, you're going to have a really big audience today...let's beat Jeff Suppan for once.
  25. Daron Sutton did a good job on Fox Watch. I'm pumped for 33% of the nation who have the opportunity to watch the Brewers today http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
