    Roughing the passer was called like that today because the league wants it that way. Terrified of injuries to good QBs and giving their broadcasters games devoid of star QBs, especially as the talent level throughout the league slowly but surely begins to thin out.

    The quality of the NFL product this year has been as poor as I can remember. That was boring and unwatchable. A game with 36 points scored has no business lasting three and a half hours.

    So much to say - I’ll save it for the end of the month - but holy crap, this is just a fantastic baseball team. Love that the team to finally break through after all these years is a legitimately great team and not some dumb 87 game winner that got hot and lucky at the right time.

    They need to air some of the LCS games exclusively on FS1 to justify the cable carriage fees paid to Fox for that network

    Setting aside Super Bowls/World Cup/Knicks NBA Finals at MSG, I can’t think of a sporting event in the US with this level of demand/secondary market pricing since the 2016 World Series. At least at this point.

    Friday’s weather in Cleveland looks horrible so expect that game to be moved up as well.

    Brewers are favored on the money line to win outright. Dodgers are favored on the run line because if one of the two teams wins by 2 or more runs, it is likelier to be the Dodgers.

    Looking around online tonight, just out of curiosity. If Cleveland hangs on tonight, the Brewers will be the only team that sells out all (or any) of its LCS games. There are thousands and thousands of tickets remaining in Cleveland, Tampa and LA.

    It’s fun for the fanbase to have a couple of longstanding villains, even if it’s been a little played out. Why not boo him? I don’t personally but it’s just kind of a bit at this point imo.

    Betting on the Rays to win the AL pennant is free money. They’re going to dismantle whichever hapless team wins this series.

    Yeah, but I think they care more about giving the same number of prime time vs. late afternoon games to TBS and Fox. It’s not really fair for Turner to get a dog of an ALCS in terms of matchup and then stick all of those games at 4 or 5 pm, as opposed to 8 pm ET.

    Dodgers/Mets got the early slot two years ago. But we’ll see. I think it’s like a 1 in 3 chance the Brewers win this series. Maybe slightly better. I know we are scarred by what happened last year, but the Dodgers got outplayed by Toronto and needed a lot of luck to win those final two games. So we’ll see. This series will for sure end in Milwaukee though.

    Game 2 is probably going to be at 3 or 4 pm on Monday, if they keep the same scheduling from the past several years

    Early line is Dodgers -160/Brewers +130. I think the odds were longer last season.

    That series was absolutely sublime. This time it’s different. 3 down, 8 to go.

    This is a big game from the perspective of setting up starting pitching for the LCS. Win tonight and Miz pitches Sunday night on 7 days rest in Game 1, and then probably again on Friday game 5 and in relief Game 7 Monday. Lose tonight (and win on Friday) means you don’t have Miz on full rest until Game 3 at best.

    For all the talk that the Brewers had not won more than 5 consecutive games this season … they are now at 7 straight and counting
