  1. What the hell is a picture of Indiana Jones doing on the Brewers schdule at the team Website? WHy don't we just put a picture of Spiderman on the bases? Since the Gallardo announcement and last night's loss, some buddies have started a "Guess when the Brewers will be back to .500" pool. Being an optimist, I should be venting about its very existence, but I'm more upset that all three dates in the series at Pittsburgh are already claimed. So I guess I'm venting about myself.
  2. Bump. On a day like this, this thread has no business even being close to page 2.
  3. Gee, it's not like we haven't seen the same general pattern in way too many CV starts. I don't know why someone wasn't ready to come in immediately. Just furious right now.
  4. I'm seriously considering not even watching tonight, I'm so down about the Gallardo mess. Was on the road all day and didn't hear the news until just before I got home. Having gone down this road with my own kid losing a season over the winter, it's just really depressing. Weird thing is, having seen her land on the videotape, I had no idea how Gallardo wasn't injured yesterday making the same landing. I guess he was.
  5. It probably doesn't ned repeating, but ESPN just blows. This afternoon's game was the lead story on SC, of course, but why should they let results rain on the parade they're throwing for the Cub's best April ever. Guess it's not May in Bristol yet. There are a million ways to run this story. A budding rivalry. The Brewers having taken both series in Chicago this season. Etc. Instead, the continue to rub our big market neighbor to the south with more coronation stories. Pathetic journalism.
  6. It's hard to fault guys for swinging at balls that could possibly be called strikes.
  7. That 3-0 call was complete and utter junk.
  8. Classy Cub fans throwing stuff at Braun in the corner. Guess they deserve the blown call.
  9. I'm really tired of other teams getting all these dribblers and fisters.
  10. Counsell looks less lost than the guy calling the strikes.
  11. He was out by a mile. Had way too much time to brace himself. Tough call for teh 3B coach there, given Fukudome's arm.
  12. My daughter blew out her ACL when a girl hip checked her going in for a layup this past winter. Landed exactly the same way. Another reason sliding into first (coming from the box) should be banned.
  13. Can ANYONE defend not having the bunt on for Hart there? Yeah, he's the 5 hitter, blah, blah blah. You konw it's probably going to be low scoring. Get 'em over, get 'em in. Hell, with the Cubs figuring Yost to play it the way he did, Hart may even have gotten a hit out of it if he drags instead of sacrifices on his first attempt.
  14. I think the only thing consistent about today's zone will be inconsistency. I'm fully prepared to be just furious before the day is through.
  15. Gorman, See main thread. My blue doesn't work.
  16. Bill Hall continues to get a pass.
  17. Not if they hire him out for kid's birthday parties and bar mitzvahs.
  18. Any truth to the rumor that guys around the clubhouse have been referring to Stetter and Turnbow as Yin and Yang?
  19. Well, somebody would have been dead at the plate. That was like watching NASCAR, hoping for a crash. Maybe the throw wasn't that bad. Amezaga was just throwing it to where the catcher ran to.
  20. Jordan only played AA, and that was a stretch.
  21. The game isn't on in Madison because Charter hates Madison since everyone there who loves sports and was able to switch went satellite so they could watch the Badgers. I'm only half-joking.
  22. I've got in on 659 too. Weird that it's not just on the FSN-WI 642 channel.
  23. Just saw something on Gameday that has probably never before been written in teh English language: Glendon Rusch relieves Trevor Hoffman in the 10th - Arizona 7 San Diego 7 If this isn't an omen of a wierd night, I don't know what is. Then again, I've seen Hoffman pitch this year. He seems to be suffering from teh same thing that happened to Lidge in and after the playoffs a few years back.
  24. I'm not even that upset that this game isn't on FSN tonight.
