3 out of 4 would be sweet. If the Brewers do win tomorrow who would've thought the only game they would lose would be the one Sheets pitched in?

That is crazy to think, I really hope Bush can find his stuff and pitch good and get through 6 innings and hopefully the bats stay somewhat hot and get hotter yet. I'm hoping Braun continues to sizzle 7-13 in the series. 3 out of 4 from the Cards would be outstanding considering where we were when he started this series.

I have pretty little confidence that Dave Bush will out-pitch Adam Wainwright.

Yeah, it's not a matchup you'd put big money on, but the Brewers lost to Nelson Figueroa, then beat Johan Santana within 24 hrs, and they won the Bush-Hamels game.

Weird things happen.

1. For some reason I thought tomorrow was a night game. Between the 11 AM PST start time and the two bottles of Zin my wife and I drank this evening after a long day in the park, tomorrow is a wash at work.

2. I always get nervous when woogie disappears for a while after last year's slide corresponded with his disappearance. Glad to see him here today though. Awesome work as always.

3. Match-up is brutal, but as the greats (i.e. Hawing) say, that's why they play the games...

Here's to Dave holding his own against his second dragon of the season

Well, I thought it was pretty obvious that Sheets doesn't know how to win games by this point...

Every schedule that I have, and brewers.com has this game listed as a 7:05 start time. Either way, 3 out of 4 would be huge.

Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

Dave Bush is due for one of those outings where he pitches a solid 8 innings just to tease us. For some odd reason I like our chances tonight.

Despite the lopsided pitching matchup, Vegas only gives the Cards a 54/46 edge over the Brewers tonight. At this point, I'd be happy with 3 runs in 5 IP from Bush but you can't just pull a starter if he's going good.

Huge, huge game. 3.0 games back sounds a hell of a lot better than 5.0 games back. Especially given our next 6 are the Dodgers (going against their top 3 pitchers) and at Fenway.

On the bright side, it looks like LaRussa is holding out Puljos tonight:

Manager Tony La Russa plans to rest first baseman Albert Pujols tonight, potentially giving Pujols his first day off this season. He didn't start an earlier game but appeared as a pinch-hitter.

"It's what I've been thinking all along. It's a good way to do it," said La Russa, who in spring training forecast two or three days off a month for the former MVP.

A midgame appearance would imperil Pujols' season-long run of reaching base in 39 consecutive games.

La Russa plans to start Chris Duncan at first tonight.

I just wish the Brewers didn't also need the Cubs to lose in order to gain ground.

Sorry about that, I mistook yesterdays game time for todays. Also, I fixed to top of the thread..... all the widgets disappear for some reason when its edited.

S'ok Russ, we can take care of those 3 games in our next series with them.

So uh... maybe take Bush out after 5 this time? No matter what.

I'd really like to see Bush go 4-5 & then let McClung try to get you 2-3 more. We have a nice luxury in that we appear to have two competent LHRP, so I think you could jump in with a LOOGY (if applicable) at the first sign of trouble with Seth. I really think this game is important enough to burn up the bullpen a bit more than normal.

IIRC, this is our last home game v. StL this season? I thought BA mentioned that yesterday.

It is the last visit to MP for the Cardinals in 2008. See you.

I know their fans rank much lower on the obnoxiousness scale than certain others. Maybe it was the Pujols family sitting two rows in front of us yesterday. Thanks to the guy who sits directly in front of me for blocking my view of them for most of the game.

I also saw a guy at yesterday's game wearing a cubs jacket. Perhaps he enjoys the sensation of being someplace where most all of the 40000+ attendees hate him.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

The line ups are out at JS online. Normal lineup for the Crew with Cameron back. Hardy at SS. Hall at 3B.

Pujols is indeed out of the lineup. Thank goodness. I am going tonight, at least we have some hope!
