So you like Weeks at the leadoff spot?

For now, yes, I do. They have no one else to bat there. He's the closest thing they have to a leadoff hitter. Hart is too valuable in the 5 spot to move.

IMO, he's only been batting leadoff for a few games anyway. (After the 1st inning, I considered Kendall the real "leadoff hitter" from the 9 spot.)

I had to leave for a conference call after 4 innings. I said to myself, you know, McClung's going to hit the wall pretty soon, maybe even in the fifth...the pen is pretty fresh, maybe we'll go with the quick hook this time rather than letting the game get out of reach.

People have said that McClung sucks...I don't think that's right...but his track record indicates that he's not going to give you six innings, and that anything beyond three or four is asking for trouble. Putting a player in a position where he's extremely likely to fail...that is a management failure, and I don't know how anyone can think otherwise.

nice at-bat Accosta!

"NL Baseball: helping crooked numbers stay off the board since..."

then again, Campillo's single made the top of 5th 5 instead of 3

It would be really nice if Cox paid for that. Can the Brewers get 5?

You've got a bullpen full of ex-starters who can go multiple innings. Why use Shouse for 2 innings?

The polish would wear off Kapler after about a week of starting.

This would require a manager with foresight. However, McClung threw very well today, he was battling out there all day and threw extremely well. He just got unlucky vs. Mark there, that's all there is to it.

Nice job from the 1 & 2 hitters today. Way to spark the offense boys. 11 Ks for the team today is also very nice. If I was a Brewer opponent, I would just bring up 3 minor league pitchers (ones that have not faced the Brewers) for the series. Guaranteed sweep as the Brewers are powerless against pitchers they have never seen.

you know its been this way for years. I wonder if management has anything to do with this.

The Brewers non-hitting average for this series is .365. I usually don't mind strikeouts, but 27 in 74 outs of the series is HORRIBLE!!

I love Tavarez, I really do.

Cutting that ball off - whether or not there is a close play - but what in the world are you standing there for? Then walking back to the mound as if he just struck someone out.

Lovin' you Julian.
