Tavarez DFA'ed for Riske- Latest: Declines Assignment, Signs with Braves

So, those of us who were at the 6/14 loss to the Twins not only can remember that night for the Branyan Miracle Blast, but also for the possible sunset of Julian Tavarez's career?

I cringed every time I saw him up in the bullpen. I'm so glad this is over and we don't have to worry about him coming back up in September.

Oh, but the miracle blast did happen. Julian Tavarez cannot take that beautiful moment away from me.

The Braves signed Tavarez on Tuesday.

Not only did they sign him, he pitched on Tuesday night. it was the 9th inning, the Braves were up on the Dodgers 9-1, nothing could go wrong, right?

 

It did. He gave up two runs, only managed to get one out, and the lead was emperiled. He gave up 2 hits and 2 walks. Mike Gonzalez luckily contained the damage.
