They're lower as a rate but not as an actual tax bill. Housing is much more expensive, so you either pay more in housing and in taxes or you pay the same amount in housing but receive a much smaller house than in Wisconsin. $600K goes much farther in Wisconsin.

Yes, but the sales tax in cook county is the highest in the nation.

Three cities were being considered with Milwaukee being the likely choice, until a Miller executive was murdered this past January while enjoying the nightlife in the Walker's Point area. That pretty much sealed that Milwaukee was out of the running (despite the company saying it would have no effect). When your executives are being randomly murdered, you might consider other locations.

At no point was Milwaukee the "likely choice." I'll admit that the murder didn't help Milwaukee's profile, but MC was looking at a neutral site from day 1.
