I wouldn't want Shouse facing Hatteberg normally, but with Griffey up third and the young Phillips leading off

 

 

You guys are forgetting that Hatteberg is a lefty I believe. 2 of the 3 hitters he faced were lefties, and as a previous poster pointed out, Hatteberg is now 0 for 16 vs Shouse in his career. I don't think you can go with any other move except maybe bringing in a righty to face Phillips and then getting Shouse.

The Reds bullpen is like a museum for pitchers who used to be kind of famous but can't get anyone out. Russ Ortiz is destined to join them, I think.

Great throw by Kearns and a great slide by Rickie... that was baseball at its best. I don't think more than a handful of guys in the entire league would score on that ball - it is truly incredible how fast he is.

 

Hope Carlos is okay... not sure what happened.
