I don't think I would trade those guys for Harden 3 players for 1? That is not very Melvin like. As good as Harden is, he's more injury prone then Sheets and you wanna give up a prospect like Inman plus Mench and Villanueva? I wouldn't do it. But that is just me.

I also would not do that trade. I like those two pitchers way to much to ship them off to oakland for a pitcher that has tons of talent but is oft injured.

I think they would want a top flight player or propect(s) for Harden, wouldn't they? Injury concerns aside, he has top of the rotation stuff.

I'd trade Inman in the right package, as he's a short RH, which always have trouble adjusting upwards...there are exceptions like Oswalt, but there are also a ton of former top prospects who either flamed out or are now just middle relievers.

I didnt say Id do that deal, but that is probably the type of package that would be needed to get a guy like Harden.

Well, Rich Harden's a short RHP, too. I guess take that as you wish (i.e. has he actually also flamed out?).

In general, Beane won't add payroll. Harden and Komine for Villanueva (cheap young SP), Gabe Gross (seems a Beane-kind of guy), Capellan, and someone like Steve Moss sounds about right.

I want to say I read something that listed a few pitchers such as Harden and called them out for exaggerating their height by a few inches. I'm not positive Harden was listed though...
