Torrealba is the starter for the Rockies and is has a mutual option for 2010. Perhaps Iannetta could be a target for the Brewers if the Rockies are able to address another area of need. I figure Atkins will be non-tendered and Barmes hasn't exactly been lighting it up. They may have some interest in McGehee. I say McGehee instead of Gamel because McGehee can play either 2B or 3B.

 

Iannetta career line is .242/.360/.447 and his splits in 07 & 08 demonstrate he can hit away from Coors. It looks like he'll be arby-eligible for the 1st time in '10. The Rockies certainly don't have to deal him, but he seems like a great option to at least kick the tires on.

I was just going off what Bill & Brian said last night so it may not be 100% accurate. Apparently, Torrealba lost the job, but has since reclaimed it.

I thought the Rockies viewed Iannetta as their catcher of the future and are using Torrealba as his partner until Iannetta is ready to take over full time. Iannetta has had an OPS over .800 for the past two years. I don't see them giving him up any time soon.

He only got 16 PAs in September after two bad months in July and August so there is some question to what the Rockies really think about him.
