Is there anywhere in the greater Milwaukee area I can buy bear meat?

Looking for raw bear meat, wondering where that could happen, and a ball park on what it might cost?

If you can find it, it will be very expensive ($10-20 a pound), and I doubt if you can, as I believe it has to be "farm raised". I'd probably check on some hunting web sites or boards and see if anyone will give you some if you "give them a tip".

You cannot legally sell wild game, any meat sold in Wisconsin does have to be farm raised.

Might I suggest buffalo meat instead? I've had it and I think it's better (and more lean) than hamburger. Or is that not exotic enough?

Well Bear meat is pretty darn good if you can get some. The boss of my first job was a hunter, so we would get to try some not as common meats. My uncle is a big hunter and actually killed a bear with a knife. I still laugh every time I think of that - it just doesn't sound like a good idea. Maybe if you buy him a new knife, he will go get you a bear!
