RIP Tom Snyder

Passed away from leukemia at 71.

Not sure how many of you remember him, but I enjoyed his interviews when he hosted his late-night talk show. Some may recall he got his start in Milwaukee as a radio reporter in the '60s.

"His whole life is a fantasy camp. People should plunk down $2000 to live like him for a week. Sleep, do nothing, fall ass-backwards into money, mooch food off your neighbors and have sex without dating... THAT'S a fantasy camp."

He was born in Milwaukee and graduated from Marquette High and U.

The Tomorrow Show was great and his interviews great with some goofiness thrown in. Something really new and cutting edge at the time. His style was obnoxious to some but I enjoyed it a lot.

He attend Marquette University better never graduated. He is still considered an alum, just not a grad.

His show was very strange.

Entertaining, but strange.

And it was quite a compliment when Dan Akroyd did an impression of him on the old SNL. Snyder's show was pretty obscure, and the SNL spoof was a bit of a validation.

The cigarette smoke has cleared.

Farewell Tom--

You will be missed.
