The Twins do not seem like a team wanting to make a 1y/$6M commitment to Hardy. He's always been injury prone and seems to take a while to come back from minor nicks and bruises, so maybe that's it, or maybe, they just don't think he projects well after two down seasons.

$5.3 million isn't a huge posting fee. And the amount of the posting fee indicates that a huge contract shouldn't be required to sign Nishioka. I'd surmise that this is well within the Twins' budget. The only question is how good Tsuyoshi is likely to be.
