Email spam outbreak?

So, for the past couple of days, I've received emails from a small handful of companies that I use online saying that their email server, Epsilon, was compromised and my email information was given out.

I know not to open anything fishy or from someone unknown but how well will my spam blockers on AVG work on this? Has anybody else been receiving these emails? Should I be worried at all?

Here's another article from a techie online mag:

It seems it's up to 50 companies now. As long as we practice good judgment when dealing with e-mails, things should be ok. This includes anti-virus and anti-malware scans of e-mail, which most of us should have anyway.

EDIT: another short, but good, article:

Up to 9 of them received for me. But I have my own domain for e-mail with different aliases for every site I do business with, so it will be very easy to block those aliases should I start getting spam sent to them.
