  1. Disappointed
  2. Could there possibly be a “trade for CJ Abram’s and then send him to Detroit to sweeten a deal for Skubal” ring to this? Just a thought
  3. My boss (principal) is Skubal’s dad. He thinks Tarik will get traded to Milwaukee IF they decide to trade him. He can’t stand the Tiger’s GM and can’t wait to get his kid off the Tigers, though. With so many of infield prospects, why not deal for Skubal and shift gears a bit for once? I’d also love to see the Brewers shift to Mason Miller if they can’t get a starter. I really don’t see any game-changing hitters on this year’s market. If any team deals for a hitter, you’re hoping for one of those two-month turnarounds like the Braves had in 2021 with Soler and Rosario. With something like 23 of 30 teams within reasonable striking range for a playoff spot (and the impending lockout) I kind of get the sense that this year’s deadline might be an overall dud.
  4. Yes! We just watched that last Saturday and were very pleasantly surprised with how good it was!
  5. You can’t tell me what to do! seriously, monsoon season is here in the desert and I’m already sick of this high humidity crap. It’s why I moved here thirty years ago. The dry heat easily beats this garbage. There’s my “hot” take. oh, about baseball and the Brewers? um, how about…. I am totally fine with the Brewers trading several high prospects to pick up Skubal and Finnegan from the Tigers and maybe more prospects to go after Ryan (twins) AND Chapman (Red Sox) I mean, there might not be baseball next year. Might as well go all in.
  6. This was likely talked about a few years ago, but I finally managed to find the time to sit down and watch “Masters of the Air” on Apple. Made by the same production company that made “Band of Brothers”, I found it to be outstanding. I think it jumps over “The Pacific” to be the new #2 on my WWII shows list. p.s. I don’t really have a physical list.
  7. My only concern was, "Don't get hurt!" Otherwise, all in good fun if they've got a guy just chucking up 40 mph meatballs.
  8. I would disagree about Will Smith. He's had a terrible year and been injured for about 40% of the first half. When he's been healthy, he's been completely outplayed by Dalton Rushing.
  9. Not surprised by this move. I actually expected it after he pitched on Sunday against the Cubs and clearly looked like something was wrong (two appearance in a row, actually, that he struggled if I remember correctly.)
  10. Sheesh….O-for-3 with all three being weak ground outs. Plus an error in the field…. Rengifo coulda done that! boy, we rushed this kid… ..
  11. Who gets the boot? Rengifo? Perkins? (that'd be typical Brewers for ya--have a great game, get sent down) Glad they (allegedly) made the move.
  12. Here’s tonight. we would have been at game one but some friends came to town to visit and we didn’t head to Vegas until first pitch. We Got to Vegas at 8:30 (fourth inning or so) and we decided to just check in at the hotel and watch the game there, thinking there’s only an hour or so left. Whoops.
  13. American Revolution? Are we talking about the Ken Burns documentary? If so, yes, that was excellent. If not, please inform.
  14. Yup, re-fied at 1.875% for 15 years in 2020. Set to pay off about four years earlier than expected. as a result, I won’t be moving anytime soon
  15. For as good as Zerpa looked this spring--especially in the WBC--I thought we really had transformed another blah pitcher into something special. Turns out, he's returned to being a blah pitcher. It's been disappointing and, yes, I think he needs to get out of some high leverage innings for a little while, unless they need his left-handedness for a couple of lefty-on-lefty matchups.
  16. I don’t know how miscellaneous this is, but are the Brewers not doing a pregame show for road games this year? All four games so far did not offer one on the MLB.TV app. Last season they had pregame shows for home and road available. So, just checking in case I’m missing something.
  17. Wouldn’t it be something if they made this deal only to trade him at the deadline in a complete blockbuster deal to go out and try to win the World Series? I had mentioned in the bold predictions thread that I thought Pratt would get traded at the deadline but I now think that’s doubtful. But what if, you know???
  18. True story: my wife and I saw the Brewers in Goodyear this spring, playing the Reds and then the Guardians. In the Reds game, we sat down the first base line a bit past the dugout and saw Pratt, among others, standing at attention during the national anthem. I noticed, however, he couldn’t stop futzing with his hair once his hat was off. The next night, we were in the front row on the third base side by the tarp. Here comes Pratt to meet family who were visiting. They asked if I could take a photo, so I obliged. Afterward, I spoke with Pratt a bit (there was next to nobody in the park yet) and told about the hair thing the previous afternoon. He and his family all had a good laugh, mentioning how he always was self-conscious of how he looked without a hat on. So, I love the guy but I don’t know how much trust I put in a guy who’s more concerned with his hair than his play when he’s on the field.
  19. 3 CWS 3-0 3 TB 2-1 3 KC 1-2 3 BOS 1-2 3 WAS 3-0 3 TOR 2-1 3 MIA 1-2 3 DET 1-2 3 PIT 3-0 3 ARI 2-1 That adds up to 19-11 for me. Optimistic, for sure.
  20. I don’t think it’s been activated as an actual channel yet. 670 doesn’t even exist according to my receiver’s “add channels” menu option
  21. Just an FYI, my wife said she found an article (or something) that said DirecTV channel for Brewers TV will be announced on Thursday (yes, on opening day 🙄) as they are still negotiating with MLB about the rights to broadcast games. unbelievable. But totally believable
  22. That's actually good to see. The last time I checked (~2 weeks ago) they were $500 apiece on every site. I'll probably wait a while to see how low they can go. Thanks for the update. I had kinda given up hope.
  23. Tickets are already on sale on StubHub and places like that for exorbitant amounts ($400-500 per ticket!). We had planned on going (already have hotel rooms) but not going to pay those prices. if I spend $19, do I get access to normal pricing?
