Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest 2007

Well, we're about an hour away from the annual celebration of gluttony. I'm glad that Kobayashi did not have to go on the DL - we'll have to see if this jaw injury will effect him in competition.

 

The wagering site I use had the following props available:

 

Over 58 dogs (-120)

Under 58 dogs (-120)

 

 

Chestnut (-250)

Kobayashi (+175)

The Field (-900)

 

 

I put 25 bucks on the under. Betting on competitive eating? Like Yakov Smirnoff said, "What a country!"

I'd also bet under, I think 59.5 is the record, and it's doubtful they'll hit that.

That was disgusting...........disgustingly entertaining. I've never been so excited about competitive eating. The judges are saying that Chesnut ate 66 hotdogs. Wow!!

I think there needs to be a test for Human Growth Enzymes. No way a normal person can digest that much. I wouldn't want to be in any of their homes in the next few days.

 

Did you see in the "pregame" that the lady called the Black Widow ate 10% of her body weight in a cheesecake competition?

I'm not sure how much they "digest", Jason. I've read many times that almost all the top eaters "take care of" some of their gluttony within 30-60 minutes of the contest.

 

If they don't, ouch.

I was listening to it on the radio and I was sick because of how gross it is, and stunned at why they would think this would be good radio! Don't you need the visual of people stuffing hot dogs in their piehole? Gross stuff!
