Atlanta in October?

Anyone been down there around that time of year? My wife is going to a conference down there for four days, and I have the chance to go with. I've never been in that city. Only trick is that I will probably have a lot of time by myself, since she'll be in meetings and such. Is it worth going? I wish it was a month or two before hand, since then I would just go to a Braves game or something. Otherwise, I don't really know what there is to do down there. Any help would be appreciated.

If the Braves make the Playoffs, I'm sure you'll be able to get tickets, no problem.

Love atlanta. I don't know how old you are but I really like the area. Turner is a great park, CNN building, and coca cola are downtown and ok to check out. But I have always stayed in the burb, buckhead, and that is where ESPN zone and some cool bars are. But there are also some nice golf courses, shopping, and just a nice area. I have no idea what you like to do but that is a start.

Stone Mountain is pretty neat, too, if you like historical stuff. Not just the carvings in the mountain itself but the Civil War era mansion, buildings, etc. on the grounds.
