Brian Fuentes

Was looking at some upgrades for my fantasy baseball team tonight and read this note on Fuentes (from Rotowire):

It's pretty obvious that Grant Balfour and Joey Devine's return to

health have effectively buried Fuentes in the A's bullpen, as he's not

even being use as a lefty specialist in the late innings either. He

could be an attractive trade target for a contending team looking for

some left-handed late inning help, so you may want to hold onto him

another week if your league rewards holds. If he's in Oakland beyond the

trade deadline, there's not much to like for the final two months.

Worth kicking the tires on? He's actually been worse against LH batters this season than righties, but for his career is .621 OPS against.

Maybe the numbers say something different but I can tell you that when he was with the Angels, it was like watching Axford at his worst. 2-0 and 3-1 counts are the norm. Very uncomfortable to watch and will be somone that has you as a fan Ben Sheets-ing your way through every inning.
