Orlando Hudson Designated for Release, or Something

Keith Law says the Padres have DFA'd Orlando Hudson, Danny Knobler says he's been released...either way, he's done with the Padres.

I was hoping they'd release Bartlett too, but instead he got placed on the DL. I'd definitely like to see the Brewers get Bartlett.

Wow, the Padres still owe Hudson 4.2M for this year, and the buyout for next year is another 2M.

Hudson is just 34 years old but is batting just .211 this season with a .260 OBP...yet he has 5 triples this season in 35 games. That's strange.

He has never logged a ML inning at any position other than 2B. Perhaps we could just play 2 second baseman and no shortstop. Nothing would get through the right side of the infield!

I really profile as an all-field no-hit DH, but I suppose I could try and hack it at short.

We played two 2B last year with a DH at 1B and LF.
