  1. I think I did do my last job interview without pants. Video interviews are kind of nice for that. I don't care what the policy is, if you dress like a schmuck that is going to give at the very least some influence on the decision. All things equal, the person who did not dress appropriate is probably not going to get the job.
  2. I am waiting on the X-Men and Guardians but yeah I am pretty much done with Marvel for now too.
  3. Unfortunately, unlike in the comics, actors will eventually show the effects of aging. I liked Loki quite a bit, Hawkeye has been ok, and the villain reveal was interesting. I just don't think the new, young characters are going to be interesting enough to keep people interested enough to spend money by the billions the way they have been for the last decade plus I am honestly probably mostly out on Marvel until they start introducing X-Men. I will probably watch Guardians 3, have heard Spiderman was pretty good so maybe that, but I am burned out after Endgame.
  4. That's why I went with an Amazon Fire Stick. Amazon is big enough where Google can't bully them around. The Amazon Fire Stick can go forward or backwards 15 seconds using the remote. Right now you can get one half price for $20 on Best Buy. The problem is if Amazon and Google get in a tiff, Youtube and Youtube TV disappear from Firestick. Same with Chromecast and Amazon Prime. You will get teh "no longer supported" from them.
  5. $65-85 was why we cut the cord in the first place. I quit YTTV when they moved to $50/month.I would pay $150 for the season for MLB TV but there just isn't enough on any streaming service to convince me to pay much more than $35 a month.
  6. This is what I was thinking too. It is easier to just not reply if you are not hiring someone than deal with a possible discrimination lawsuit. You could be dealing with a very small population of people depending on the professional field. The worst to deal with are contracting companies. They are downright predatory.
  7. Still feels wrong to have Venom not tied to Spider-man
  8. It's on Hulu
  9. I did a phone interview and proctored test for a company. They wanted everyone in the office 100% of the time. I asked specifically about bad weather and they said the weather is never that bad you can't make it into the office. Huge red flag to me. At the very least you should allow people to work from home in the winter when the roads are sketchy. Their reasoning was it is easier to collaborate in person than virtually. I agree to a point but don't think 100% is the way to go. I can't really think of any IT job that you need to be in the office 100% unless you are doing hardware installation. I find the video interviews a lot less stressful. I think I even went without pants on one. I say think because I know I seriously considered it and my dress pants do not fit well anymore but do not remember what I decided. I literally cut my miles driven by 66% in 2020. Easily saved 8 hours a week just in commute time. It is crazy to think I had that much time sunk into just driving every week.
  10. Definitely agree. It felt more like a movie to introduce a new character as opposed to a Black Widow story which I would have been on board for especially 5 years ago. I would have much rather preferred a Black Widow Origin story but, I can see how it would not make sense now. Honestly kind of burned out on Marvel now. Add in less well known characters, easy access to streaming, and the pandemic and I am not sure how many more I will see in the theater. Might change my mind if X-Men and Fantastic Four are introduced back in.
  11. My dad had the same thing happen with all his DirectTV a couple years ago. They used to work with his TVs as universal remotes but no longer do and have only limited functionality with the receivers. I wouldn't be shocked if something happened with DTV and the screwed the pooch but won't admit it.
  12. Agree. Wish they would have cut out one. I didn't really like the series at all until towards the end of the third episode. I would have been ok if they had made that the first.
  13. I always look at the ranking in terms of the old WCHA and damn it was comprised of some really good teams. USA Today 1. University of North Dakota, 488 (17) 3 13-4-1 14 2. Boston College, 474 (12) 1 11-3-1 14 3. Minnesota State University, 440 (4) 4 11-2-1 14 4. University of Minnesota Duluth, 395 (1) 6 12-5-2 14 5. University of Minnesota, 343 2 15-5-0 14 6. University of Wisconsin, 342 12 13-7-0 12 7. St. Cloud State University, 313 5 12-7-0 10 8. University of Michigan, 289 7 10-6-0 14 9. University of Massachusetts, 234 9 11-5-3 14 10. University of Nebraska-Omaha, 193 10 11-6-1 8

    Pizza

Maybe they should start marketing it as Detroit style to get more sales. Honestly more crust is not all that appealing to me. I am kind of craving Roadhouse in Ripon. Probably nostalgia or just something other than chain pizza though. I remember them having very thin crust with good sauce. Beer sauce which seemed really cool when I was younger. It has been a really really long time since I have been there.

How is that pizza place in Ripon now? The one across from the first Marcus Theaters. Roadhouse I think?
  17. That is an interesting solution but the wireless rights would have to be bought and paid for.
  18. Youtube TV was a fantastic deal at $35 and I would have kept it at that price. The DVR on it worked great for recording live sports and anything else you wanted. At $50 it was a bit much and now at $65 is overpriced. That is getting up there with cable prices and not worth it at all. MLB just needs to get rid of their archaic blackout rules. Probably never gong to happen though with all the local TV money in bigger markets.
  19. Probably not even polution. Probably because all the silt settled instead of being stirred up all the time.
  20. $1000 will build a computer that will play anything. You can probably do better than that if you try. The graphics card is a good percentage of the cost.
  21. Console prices are out of control and you can get so many games on pc anymore. I also do not keep up on games like I used to so I can wait them out.
  22. I think I might give up on consoles. I had to(kind of) build a good computer for school so I built one that can handle pretty much any game even VR.
  23. Where was the advice about filling out a resume? I have never had to make one and after 19 years at the same job have no experience at interviewing. In fact I have to say that I have never in my life had a job interview where the interview actually mattered.
  24. Is it lawn care or selling lawn care services? My neighbor was doing that in Madison a year or so ago and he thought the job sucked. I will ask him for more details if you wish.
