MacBook Battery Question

I have a 13 inch MacBook from 2008. Always used to keep a charge for a long time when off the charger recently when I take it off the charger the battery is only good for a half hour tops. Is this fix as simple as buying a new battery?

99% most likely. Rechargeable batteries lose their capacity the more you charge it. A new one should not make you tied to the wall outlet anymore.

This is definitely easy to do yourself on your particular model, but if you take the machine in to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store, they'll test everything out at no charge. And if the battery is in stock, they'll install it for you on the spot.

 

You can make Genius Bar appointments on Apple's web site.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
